Since the sunny, colorful, carefree days of the early 1970s, eegees has been serving handcrafted sub sandwiches and its now-famous frozen fruit drink, the eegee, in Southern Arizona. In September 1971, the founders pooled their resources to purchase a vending truck and began serving a frozen lemon drink at high schools, sporting events, and concerts in town. The drink was called an eegee. Eventually, the vending trucks were retired as they turned their business into a growing quick-service restaurant chain.
Today, there are 25+ eegees locations in the greater Tucson area, as well as one in neighboring town Casa Grande. The restaurant has also grown its menu and now offers salads, french fries, and signature ranch dressings.
Casual chain serving frozen fruit drinks along with submarine sandwiches, fries & salads. Based on 392 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 3.9 stars. Price $

My family are huge fans of their Eegees frozen drinks. We usually go to Eegees near our house almost weekly. Yesterday, July 9th 2023, we stopped by the location at Crismon in Mesa, AZ on our way back home from our long trip. We haven’t had Eegees in 2 weeks since we were out of town. We ordered the usual 3 med and 1 large through the drive through. On our way home, my daughter found a broken piece of jewelry in her Eegees. The picture below shows the piece of jewelry next to a penny for perspective.

We have had nothing but great service at this location. At times they are busy and food can take a few minutes, but never more than 10. Our last visit, last week was great. I need to shoutout Theresa and Sierra!!! They had great customer service, very friendly, and eager to help and assist!!! Great employees.

Let me start by saying this is my favorite chain in Tucson. But I will never be back to this location as staff was unprofessional running up to take my order stating her shoes were slippery from the grease and then laughed. So I did not order food. Then she and other staff did not prepare my drink but stood talking and laughing. I have never experienced such horrible service.

We ordered online for a 12:10 pick up. Not only was our food not ready, we were never even acknowledged. When I finally asked if I was in the right place, they started my order which still took at least 15 more minutes to prepare. People came in, ordered their food, ate and left before ours was ready. What’s the point of ordering online if it isn’t even honored? There was no word of apology. The food was fresh and tasty. Only 1 mistake. This was my first time eating here and because of the service, it will be my last time.

This was my second time here, just to order food through the drive thru it took between 10-15 minutes (there was 1 car ahead of me) they also did mess up my sandwich but fixed it for me so we did end up waiting for about 7-10 minutes to get our food as well. The food was good (even though I could clearly see tomato seeds all over meaning they just pulled them off the sandwich) the guy at the window was friendly and apologetic so there’s that. The food was good overall; I tried a strawberry Eegee for the first time it was DELISH! I don’t know if the long wait times are a normal thing only been through the drive thru this one time the first time we went inside and there was also a wait but the food was good (they did mess up the order that time too tho & were quick to fix it) I guess if you go there expecting a longer wait and a possible sandwich mess up at least you know what you’re looking for? Food is pretty good thou; maybe staff was new I’m not sure I’ll give them another try though.

I love eegee’s. Their fries are the best and the grinders are amazing. I’m glad they put a location closer than casa g. That was a little out the zone even for a good sandwich

We love the sandwiches and icees at Eegees! The icees are so good, very thick but there are spoons. The strawberry one is amazing. The original sandwich is really good and and ranch fries are fabulous. Worth a stop for some good food! Everyone is so friendly as well.

The wait is always extreamly slow. There is 1 car in front of us and we have to wait 20+ minutes? Huge wait for a sandwich. The car in front of us had only 1 bag also. We have been here 3 times now and this will be our last. Sandwiches are OK (when they have all the ingredients), today they couldn’t make a spicy because they did not have one of the meats.

Only ordered Eegees -Peach berry is delicious. Just wish if they’re going to call names and put cups on shelf they could actually “call” name not quietly say, and then not wait for customers to ask who’s they are! Younger generation has a lot to learn!
