Hidden within the awkward parking lot of Westmar Plaza is Edoya! This place deserves some rave with their sushi. The rolls are fair priced and very delicious.

When I first saw this place I was skeptical, being in a dead plaza in Gates. My friend assured me it was pretty good so gave it a shot!

Ordered the tempura udon soup/noodles. Pretty average, the soup didn’t have as much flavor to it as other places and there wasn’t a lot of soup included in the first place. Nothing really special about it.

Nice small Japanese restaurant. Not crowded. Serves sushi and rice based dishes. The rice dishes were really big for me and I could easily eat it over two meals. They also come with miso and salad. I recommend getting the hot tea to wash every thing down.

Best Japanese cuisine I’ve ever had. My wife and I love this place. The owner is a nice Japanese couple. So it’s a genuine Japanese restaurant unlike others. Lovely decoration makes yourself feel at home. We tried the sushi and sashimi first as always. It’s fresh and delicious. And we thought why not have something new? So we order:

ended up here on christmas eve with the family, before catching a movie at Tinseltown. Place is small and somewhat dingy but I love off-the-beaten-path joints, cause they have the best food. so – the service here is very very lacking. not very friendly, staff had no idea how to explain what was in the dishes that they serve. couldn’t tell us what the difference was between 2 similar dishes. one of our dishes was supposed to come with rice, and when ours didn’t, the staff asked, ‘Oh you want rice with that?’ Um, yeah – it says it comes with rice, right? it looks like a family run spot. the food was decent enough but i feel i paid way too much for the food paired with the ridiculously low service.

I gotta admit. This place is awesome. When I was a very small child, around 2 or 3, I went up to them and bowed. Now no one had taught me thats how you greet Japanese. But I did anyway. Me and my family have gone every year, around 3 times each. I wish we could go more often. They are quite nice, and its like were great friends because we know each other so well! Sushi is my favorite food ever. I always get a large plate of sashimi and sushi, raw. This place is amazing.

Ordered spicy combo for pickup. Let’s just I am very underwhelmed. The salmon was COOKED! And the tuna roll had bits of the cooler salmon in it. This was supposed to be a raw roll. Since it was pick up, I couldn’t do anything about it until I got home. I called the restaurant and the person on the other line didn’t understand what my complaint was. $20 down the tube. Maybe this was to cut cost because the salmon was going bad? Idk but I used to be a regular and now I am definitely not coming back.

I lived in Japan for a few years and had a hankering for authentic dishes other than sushi. This place had a legit katsudon and appeared to have other great menu items as well. Small, friendly Japanese restaurant. Stop by and check it out!
