Food was fantastic! The catfish, chicken wings, Mac and cheese, yams, and greens were so flavorful. Also received an order of neck bones, which were amazing, so tender the meat just falls right off the bone! The server was so friendly and nice to talk to!

Wow!! This met my expectations for soul food!! Visiting my friend here Hattiesburg from Texas, we were recommended this restaurant from a friend of hers. I was NOT disappointed. Jerry was super friendly, fast, courteous but the food was fabulous. I had the ribs, baked beans, mac and cheese and cornbread. And the sweet tea!? Wow, perfectly perfectly sweet!

I came to Hattiesburg to train for my job, I’m a Corporate Chef and I travel often for business ! I typed in healthy food on Google and the 1st place to pop up was the Eastside Soulfood Cafe! I arrived and was greeted by the owner Mrs.Vanessa she was very nice, however her cook a male with multiple tattoos all over his body appeared to be cool at first until he tried to beat me out of $10, he asked me to tip him so he could buy a beer, I offered $3 & he tried to take $10 instead! Such a shame , now than I ordered a veggie plate, athe food was cold, because it was already after lunch time and he was breaking down food! Everything was cold but sitting on a steam bar! I was out done with the rest of the experience! I came back to my hotel and my stomach was hurting through out the entire time! That food had been sitting there all day & was not kept to temp! It was in the Temperature Danger Zone! She should check her cook as he told me he just got out of jail & I don’t know why but he was trying to slick me out of my change! The food was not made from scratch , everything was either Canned or box! I would not recommend this place for fear someone will get sick or scammed if they go! I love black owned businesses but it be our very own that hurt our business! I hope it changes!

The Mac and cheese was maybe the most bussy buss thing to ever go in my mouth. And the service was so good. Also their toilet seat is like cushioned, and it was so comfortable. 10/10 would eat there again. Y’all needa open one in Arkansas.

The food was amazing and the staff was very helpful and pleasant!!! Baked chicken was seasoned well, CABBAGE was slammin’, cornbread was perfect and not dry. I loved the dessert as well, it was like a cinnamon streusel pound cake. I will definitely visit this place whenever I’m in town. Add this place to your must eat list!!! You will not be disappointed

Came here because of high reviews. Not impressed and didn’t want someone to make same mistake. Food was way too salty and smoky. Husband’s chicken was raw in the middle. Not pink. Raw. Cake was dry.

I had the greens, cornbread dressing, baked chicken, and cornbread muffin. My husband had the yams, greens, baked chicken and cornbread muffin. We both had the pound cake as well. Everything was so good, the chicken was moist and well seasoned, and you can tell the greens were not from a can, somebody put they foot in that pot. Let me not forget that dressing with the gravy and I don’t eat a lot of people’s dressing because they seem to get sage happy but OMG!!! Definitely a great spot to get good guy oôm care cooked meal.
