Bear’s Cavern

This was my absolute favorite place to go and get my coffee in the morning before a long day. The reason this location WAS my favorite was because of the speediness of the early morning crew (Taya, Darren, Darell). They made me laugh at 0515hrs. They were upbeat. They were NICE. As you can see by the photo, I have more ice than coffee. It took me twelve (12) minutes to get through the drive-through. I had a mobile order, so to make things worse, my order wasn’t ready when I got to the window, I had no utensils or napkins, and whomever was on that headset needed a lesson in etiquette and an adjustment in their tone. I get that it’s early in the morning, and you are tired. However, YOU are not the only one on their way to work. It’s sad because I used to go out of my way for this Dunkin, and now I will be redeeming my points for rewards and closing my account.

Waited over 30 minutes to place an order. I sat at the microphone waiting to place my order for 10 minutes. The car in front of me also waited about 10 minutes before being able to place an order. Even during peak hours this would be a ridiculous wait but it’s currently very slow in the middle of the afternoon. No clue what the employees are doing inside. Must be mashing each coffee bean individually by hand. In total I waited 45 minutes for 2 coffees and 10 donut holes. Get your coffee elsewhere if you value your time.

Guy who took my order in the drive-thru was awesome, he was patient, courteous, and helpful! The young woman who cashed us out at the window didn’t say two words to us and I thanked her three times once for every item she handed to me…I got nothing back …kinda ruined the good that the big guy did…sometimes people’s smallest reactions can make a big difference.

I visit this Dunkin often on my way to work and it is very efficient. The drinks and food is prepared consistently well. The staff is very polite especially since this visit is usually before 7 am.

My review is not a comment on my experience today or in the past: the crew here is wonderful and this is not their doing. There is a list of items being discontinued at all Rochester Dunkin locations because the franchise has been bought out. They are discontinuing what I see as “staple items” such as sesame seed bagels, hazelnut swirl for coffee and chocolate chip muffins. My son loves those muffins as his once in a while treat! I sure hope corporate pays attention to this. Please don’t discontinue popular items!!! Your employees will have to deal with the fallout and they don’t deserve it.
