Drift is a local, independent cafe serving premium coffee and brunch, built by people who love good coffee and food. Our team has been inspired by cafes all over the world. Founders Michael and Ben Powell grew up surfing competitively and traveling the world. Throughout these surfing adventures, a desire for coffee formed. We serve things that we enjoy consuming – items that are minimally processed, nutritious, fun and flavorful. Some of which have attachment to traditions of diverse cultures. They are made in-house from clean ingredients, prepared fresh each time you order. Our premium coffee comes from Ceremony Coffee Roasters, a specialty roaster. We use local ingredients when we can. Delicious coffee and food, friendly staff, and cute vibes. Menu is clearly labeled with dietary restrictions so it’s easy for anyone to find something they love. I live out of town, but I’m so glad I found this spot – I’ll definitely be back!

The iced mocha was just ok, the espresso tasted burnt. But I highly recommend their breakfast options!

I was a little disappointed in this place. I feel there is potential and will probably be back, but my first experience wasn’t the best. The menu had a great variety of vegetarian options and I couldn’t just pick one thing, so I ordered two! I got the avocado, egg, and cheese sandwich and the chia pudding.

Our top 2 favorite coffee /breakfast places in the Wilmington NC area. Quality products, great ambiance, and friendly staff. We’ll return.

Loved the food and drinks very much. Unusual flavor combinations that tasted great. Cool hip place which I would visit a lot if I lived here except… The staff came across as very snobbish. Not friendly at all made me and our family feel very out of place. Oh well..

Cozy vibe, excellent menu and great service. Visiting for the week, the menu is so good and the beverages are so tasty that I have come back every morning. The Aztec smoothie was delicious, açaí bowl was lovely with the perfect amount of food, the seasonal strawberry honey latte was nice and the pictures Blue Cloud was spectacular. Definitely a place worth checking out and returning to.

Good coffee, clean and bright interior. Didn’t try the food this time but the menu looked solid. Will be back but until then, glad we stopped by.

Small cute coffee shop in Downtown Wilmington, NC. A very nice needed upgraded downtown, now better place to walk and enjoy a large variety of restaurants and bars. Some upgrade done to the hotels as well.

Would totally go back again! The avocado cheese and egg sandwich was delicious with just a little bit of spiciness. The pistachio cappuccino was unique and added a delicious little extra nuttiness and wasn’t too sweet. The light teal cup and saucer was a beautiful color — a nice detail.

Great atmosphere, good food, burnt coffee. Would return but I’d rather order a latte than a coffee next time. Coffee tasted burnt/bitter like it was sitting on a hot burner for a while. Otherwise had a good experience.
