This is a neat little restaurant located at the DeKalb County airport. It’s a short distance from many people’s work location and is a nice place to have a work team meeting or get together. The atmosphere is amazing as you can watch planes taxiing in and out and taking off from the airport. The service is good and the food is served properly and is very good with a variety of items on the menu. All in all just a great place to meet and hang out with members and friends from work.

Great food with a fun atmosphere! I took my family for a nice dinner and the kids loved the food and watching all the planes and jets take off and land. Our server Denice was amazing and all the food was delicious. The chef even came to confirm my child’s allergy and ensure us he would make sure we were safe! It was a great evening and we will return especially to check out some of there fun events!

I have been coming to Downwind for years. Don’t let the old ambiance fool you. The food is fantastic and view of the runway is even better! I ordered the blackened grouper since it was one of the specials. It was delicious.

My favorite little cafe to go and hangout awhile, watching the planes enjoying really good food and service. I love the fact that you don’t see the restaurant until you go through a door at the end of a hall, and, voila! You are there. Our server Jada was so nice, friendly and knowledgeable. I would like to give a shout out to Ashleigh as well! The whole staff is great!

Such a freakin cool spot with tasty food and an amazing view! Great food, good portion sizes and it wasn’t just all fried bar food like I was envisioning before I went there – actually felt like a relatively healthy dinner (blackened chicken with the mashed potato and pan seared green beans).

We arrived on a Thursday night as a large family group (three couples) with toddlers and babies. We were seated promptly in the main dining section. The children loved pointing out the model planes suspended from the ceiling. Service was terrific and very kid-friendly. All were pleased with their order including the appetizers. Highly recommend this restaurant as a unique, relaxed, and entertaining dining experience next to the PDK runway. Keep in mind that Friday nights are reserved for adults only.

The staff was so friendly and kind. Our 8 year old absolutely loved watching the planes takeoff. The food is simple but good. We were so glad to happen upon this place passing through town. Thank you all for being understanding of our needs and taking great care of us!

We showed up early on a Saturday with 5 adults and 5 kids under 4. The staff was so sweet and accommodating to our children. They put us in a spot where the little ones could get up and look at the planes each time they flew by with out disturbing other guests. The restaurant is family owned and operated and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Recommend getting the Gyro or Cheeseburger with the potato salad. There’s also a playground and observation deck right Nextdoor which our kids loved. It was the perfect casual, delicious and easy meal for taking toddlers out to eat. We will definitely make the drive from Marietta to come back.
