Delicious fresh live lobster cooked when ordered. Order first by picking out your own live lobster then wait while they cook it at either the full bar covered patio upstairs or downstairs patio. Beautiful view, friendly service and delicious food. Our lobster was served with tasty fresh corn on the cob and we saved room for dessert of homemade blueberry pie. Our bartender offered to bring our pie to us when she checked on us at our table. Large parking lot. Try this restaurant, it was great!

Half price from lobster joints in Bar Harbor and WAY better. Michael was super nice and helped pick out the right lobster, fun process. You order and choose your lobster at the counter, then find seating in the cozy patio upstairs or dining room downstairs. Food was great! Best place we ate here.

This place is awesome! If you want fresh lobster, great service, unbeatable prices, and the true Maine experience, go here! The family who runs the place is so nice. My husband picked out his lobster and ate it fresh – it doesn’t get better than that! My lobster roll was also delicious.

This is the only place we ate at twice! We went here our second night as it was right up the road from our hotel. We expected lobster but what we didn’t expect was such a great experience. Our first night we were greeted with such friendliness. We got the lobster melt and tried steamers for the first time. We headed up to the roof top and sat at the bar. Tonya was great to chat with and us being newbies let us know how you were supposed to eat the clams. We wanted to go for a “fancy” dinner and on our last night we decided to head back to our favorite place. The owner saw us taking pictures with the lobsters and proceeded to pull out the largest one and let us take a picture with it. He hand picked one for us knowing we were going to share it. Taught us so much about legal sizing in Maine and some of the biggest lobsters to be caught. We headed back up to the roof top where Tonya was working once again. Us being from wisconsin have only had lobster tails. She showed us all the little places there is meat in the entire lobster. Great conversation and down to earth people. We couldn’t recommend this place enough. The price is affordable with more bang for your buck with the quality plus the atmosphere. Personally we think what you get here can’t be found in Bar Harbor where prices are higher and not such a personal feel. 10/10 recommend. When we make our way back to Maine we will be sure to stop here again!

Value for money was outstanding. The atmosphere was incredible, the staff were fun and friendly, and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The food was really good—we got a meal with 3 soft shell lobsters, french fries, 2 drinks including one with alcohol, and 2 full ears of corn for $75, including tax and 20%+ tip. Seriously, unless you live in Maine and doing the meal prep yourself, you’re not going to do better for the price. The warm and laid back atmosphere on the roof deck with the hilarious bartender will definitely bring us back next time we’re in the area. Highly recommend!

We stumbled into this lobster pound because it was the “first place on the right”. We were returning from Arcadia national Park after dealing with huge crowds. Lunch and a beer was our first priority. There were five lobster pounds on the road. We decided that we would stop at the next one on the right because we were going north. Not always the best way to choose a restaurant but we lucked out this time. We wanted lunch and some lobster meat to take home. I’ll admit it, we are lobster novices. They had this large area with lots of lobsters. As we started to ask questions, The owner came out and gave us a wonderful lesson in lobster. Since we wanted to take lobster meat home he was kind enough to help us choose a lobster, have it boiled and removed from the shell. For lunch We ordered lobster bisque and a haddock sandwich. Both were excellent. The haddock sandwich was breaded nicely and fried without being greasy. It was served extraordinarily hot and tasted very, very fresh. The lobster bisque was excellent. It was creamy and loaded with lobster. The staff was great and made us feel welcome. Overall is was a lovely causal meal on a sunny Maine day with good food and good company. It doesn’t get any better. BTW, the lobster meat we took made an excellent breakfast and lunch the day. Go to this place! You won’t regret it.

This place is sooo good! The staff are super friendly and so welcoming! I had the fried scallops with fries and the clam chowder. It was delicious, scallops were fresh of the boat and fried JUST right and those fries!!! They are like home made. And let’s not forget about the blueberry pie, a MUST have!! I also loved that on every table was a tackle box filled with salt & pepper, ketchup and mustard. I thought it was a cute detail. Thank you Downeast Lobster!
