Dovetail was fantastic and yummy. We tried the pepperoni and breakfast pizza (only available for brunch) and both were awesome (the crust was amazing and buttery). We also tried the fries olives which were delicious. Finally we had the Caesar salad and while we enjoyed it we did feel the dressing was a bit heavy on the anchovy flavor. Nevertheless, the rest of the food was delicious and original. The ambience in the restaurant was excellent, it was well decorated, and very clean. Servers were super professional and very attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant!

We found out about this place through Instagram. I’m glad we decided to give it a try. Their portions are big enough to share. We had the calamari, cesar salad and pepperoni pizza. All delicious! I especially liked the pizza. Not very saucy, which I prefer. It was a little warm inside, but I guess that’s expected with the extreme Texas heat. Definitely going back to try other items on the menu.

This restaurant was absolutely phenomenal, my partner and I loved everything about it! We got seated as soon as possible and helped right way! Servers were all very polite and helpful! The food was flavorful, beautifully presented and served ! The music playing was just as great being that it was so soothing, I could actually enjoy my partner and myself along with our meals without feeling overwhelmed! I will definitely be visiting again !!

Heard great reviews about the place and it did not disappoint! We loved all the pizzas we ordered and had a refreshing beer to go along with it. I recommend Fresh mozz and Meat pizza. Sadly their draft weren’t available at the time but would definitely go back here again!

Pleasant surprise of a gem on South First. First and foremost the pizza here is amazing. The crust of the pizza is just how it should be, thin and crispy, it holds the ingredients of the pie. The menu has a few good options for house pizzas but you can build your own and that’s how I tend to roll when I eat pizza. The service was great, the staff are very attentive and kind, not once did I have to wait or ask for anything. If you’re looking for a great pizza and a new flavor, give Dovetail a try.

This is very good pizza! It’s meant to be halfway between a Neapolitan style and a NY style and I think it achieves that. It’s definitely more of a fresh restaurant pizza than a quick snack slice. It’s not cheap, but the portions are really big, so plan for leftovers.

Came for a girls night and had a great time. We ordered the following to share for 5: fried calamari, smoked eggplant, the meat pizza and the white pizza. The amount of food was perfect and everything was delicious. Our server, Ben, was great! Oh and the crème brûlée was so yummy!

Great service. Food was fresh and delicious. Ricotta appetizer was amazing and balanced. Caesar was nothing special. We ordered the meatball without the pasta (lol) and it was good but not sure it’s worth the $15 alone. Bittersweet pizza was not great. Too much of one note. Needed something to brighten up the flavors. Should have gone with a more traditional pie. Pricing was fair. Will definitely be back!

Stopped in to try some pizza for lunch and had a great experience. There was only one other table of guests when I arrived so I can’t say what this place is like when busy, but, my experience was outstanding. The service was attentive and friendly. From what I understand, the pizza only comes in one size, but the size is good for two people to share along with an appetizer. And I thought the pizza was amazing. I’ve had some good pizza in my life, and in my opinion, this is some good pizza. I thought all the drink options were fairly priced and I liked the atmosphere. I’ll be going back for sure.

Visited Dovetail Pizza & Bar for birthday celebration. First time there and was very impressed with food quality and service received. Since we went for family style, we decided to order multiple dishes to try out. We got Fried Castelveltrano Olives, Corn Fried Calamari, Baked Ricotta, Pepperoni Pizza, Meat Pizza, Bittersweet Pizza, Spaghetti & Meatball and Caesar salad. It’s very hard to pick any favorite item out as all dishes were excellent. That being said, being a true lover of spicy food, I would like to highlight the Bittersweet Pizza, which meatless with Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Provolone, Kale, Hot Peppers and Eggplant. It’s bitter-ish, it’s pepper-ish, it’s yummy.
