Some of the best fried chicken and macaroni and cheese I have ever had. If you know you know, and if you don’t… I suggest you find out. I was driving through around lunchtime and I saw a whole bunch of cars, so I figured I would turn around and see what this place was. I am so so glad that I did. The chicken breast was the juiciest fried chicken I have ever had. Perfectly seasoned in my opinion. The pinto beans were good too. I really want to go back any try more. The staff was super friendly also.

My first visit at lunch was just fantastic. I’d heard such great things about this iconic soul food restaurant and they were all true. Pork chops are a special on Thursdays so I made sure to make that my meat. It was fried perfectly and seasoned to perfection. The sides were fresh and so tasty with a special consideration for the turnip greens. They were the best I’ve ever had! I will be back that is for sure.

UPDATE since receiving owners response: Sir/Ma’am you should have been a satirical writer as it seems you can do that better than cooking or accepting constructive criticism. The ‘jiz’ on the hot sauce bottle was caked on, and certainly not fresh. Although I am not a culinary forensics analyst, it could be a clue that it has never been cleaned. You should count yourself lucky to have 180 people fooled on a daily basis. Alas it will never be 181 as in the future I would rather eat grass in the median of Highway 72. My original review stands firm.

We got there 30 minutes before closing. Even though it’s a buffet style there was still plenty of food to choose from. The food was delicious good ole country cooking. The employees were all extremely nice a even gave me a second round of fried green tomatoes because I was talking about how good they were. The only thing that made me give it a 4 start is that you get small servings for the price. But all in all it was great and will definitely recommend.

Local “meat & veg”. Plates come with a choice of meat & 2 sides. Extra meat and/or sides can be added on request. Line moves quickly and all the food I had was quite tasty. Had a hard time deciding between the hamburger steak and the pork chop. Good excuse to go back!
