Guy Nix Jr., also known as Pitmaster Doobie, is the owner and operator of Doobie’s Smokehouse, a new BBQ restaurant in Nob Hill. He grew up in the BBQ industry, working in his dad’s BBQ restaurant since he was just five years old. Over the years, Guy has perfected the art of traditional offset smoking and low and slow cooking techniques.
Opening his own restaurant has been a lifelong dream for Guy, and he’s thrilled to finally be able to bring his passion for BBQ to the community. At Doobie’s Smokehouse, Guy uses both red and green Hatch Chile in his rubs, bringing a taste of New Mexico to traditional BBQ techniques. The result is a unique and mouthwatering flavor that sets Doobie’s apart from other BBQ joints.

Holy cow!!! The BBQ IS AMAZING!! Like the food has no right to be so good. First off you’re going to smell them a mile down the road… green flag!!! THEN the food delivered the flavor. Totally worth the stop. Sweet potato fries are sooo good. Loved the patio.

I went here with some family a few days ago. The food is great, we had ribs, tried the chili cheese fries and potato salad, all were fantastic. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Definitely recommend coming here.

My wife, son and I went here for breakfast, and my wife said it was the best breakfast she has had at a restaurant. Get the hollandaise sauce. Amazing. Staff was incredibly friendly also. After tasting my wife’s order, I was sad this afternoon for not ordering anything. Will definitely be back soon so I can order food.

Excellent genuine authentic smoked BBQ made and served by the very kind Doobie and his team! You won’t find better and you can support a local business that’s doing it the right way. Loved the brisket, pork ribs, potato salad and beans. The horchata cheesecake was perfect desert. If your looking for ambiance, you’ll find it in the sauce! Enjoy!!!
