Very cute little diner with very friendly staff. Food was very good and prices were very reasonable for the amount of food we received. I usually eat a lot but couldn’t finish my breakfast (even though I wanted to!) We were visiting from New York but will definitely be back next time we’re in town.

This place is run by a woman that believes the customers are there for her, and not her for the customer. She is rude, and has trained her wait staff to be rude. At the drop of one complaint, they go into full defense mode. The wait for food was over 40 minutes. A order of wheat toast and an egg, and my son’s was an omelet. Got white toast. Oh well. The point is the food was average at best. The wait was ridiculous. What was really over the top is the way they went for on the man in front of me. Full frontal. I got up to pay my bill, and told the server she was wrong. Then she went off on me. I just walked passed her, to pay the bill, nobody there to take the money. Then the owner walks out and begins to yell at me. I told her she didn’t know how to ran a restaurant. She ordered me to leave, I told her I just had to pay. And before a young lady who looked terrified got to the the front the owner was threatening to call the police. I have never experienced that before. This was yesterday morning between 9 and 10.

Skip this place. Came in 5 minutes before breakfast ended (which ends early for breakfast anyway) at 10am. Two employees looked at me when I came in like they wanted to kick me in the teeth and spun around and went to the back. Definitely no greeting. Then 4 minutes later a server comes out and says breakfast was over (it still wasn’t 10 yet)–according to the server the ladies in the back decided they were switching to lunch. Definitely won’t be back. Southern hospitality and customer service is a dying art.

This is a not so hidden gem! It tends to be a high traffic place and for good reason. Both the food and service are excellent. The menu is reasonably simple but the resulting meal is always very satisfying. We always seem to talk about the food in these reviews but it is important to remember service is also an important part of the experience! These folks make you feel right at home. The second time you go you will know they remember you have been there before.

My wife Gina and I had a great breakfast this morning at Donna’s. I ordered two eggs over medium with bacon hash browns and a biscuit and gravy. Gina ordered a dish entitled half hot mess. The half hot mess being half the size of the full hot mess, what’s still too much food for Gina to eat it is basically eggs sausage and biscuits covered in gravy and very delicious. I may give it a try the next time I’m at Donna’s as well and if I’m feeling very hungry I will order the full hot mess. As always the service at Donna’s was impeccable and exceptionally friendly. I highly recommend Donna’s for a wonderful breakfast. Oh by the way I forgot to mention how excellent the coffee is.
