We stopped at Don Luis for lunch on our way back from Lake Tahoe and it was a great experience. Food and service is top notch. This is one of the best tasting Mexican food I’ve had in a long time and our servers were awesome too. On a side note, they have the best and cleanest restrooms too. This place is about 2 hr from my home but I’ll not hesitate to come back just for food.

Food was a miss, but I had a server guy blue eyes had an attitude, I ordered an Al pastor super burrito, I get my burrito but he says that I got a shrimp burrito and was stern about that, I thought ok whatever I’m not gonna argue because I’m eating it regardless just to find out it did have Al pastor in it! I got a shrimp burrito. It wasn’t bad but certainly nothing special. There were about four shrimps in there, and some of the fillings, like sour cream, had a little blob at one end instead of evenly distributing the ingredients.

I took pictures of the food but my SD card crashed and lost all my pictures. But I think I can describe it to you. It’s fantastic! The slow cooked and well seasoned chunks of meat is full of flavor. My son’s dish was delicious, beef tacos, and an enchiladas plate. I had a steak, rice, cheese, with sour cream burrito. My burrito had tendons, non chewable beef parts…eww after the third bite. My son offered to finish it later. The salsa was too spicy for our taste.
