In 1975, Don Sacramento Rodriguez opened one of the first Mexican restaurants in the United States, in the city of Athens, GA. There he developed from the hands of his wife Josephine (Doña Pepa) the most delicious recipes brought from his native Jalisco. This restaurant was called “El Azteca”. Today, Don Julio Mexican Kitchen and Don Julio Mexican Grill continues this tradition in the region of Central Florida, with its current locations in Orlando and Lake Mary, with the Chef Jesus Roman, who also develop recipes Doña Pepa with his own touch, and of course on the menu included their own creations.

Such an amazing atmosphere. It’s beautiful the food was amazing. The drinks were not shy of alcohol at all. This is definitely my new favorite spot. Andres was amazing very patient and to be honest everything I ordered today was his suggestion. Yiyi took care of our family since the very first moment we showed up. Very attentive and very kind, not like previous times that we have to ask to refill our drinks or chips. Overall we always come here since we live about 15 minutes and the ambiance is really good and safe. Good as always amazing.

I gave this restaurant 4 stars only because I’ve been here many times and have only had great service previous to this last visit. This most recent visit we had the WORST service. I had to have someone track down our server several times just to get our drink and food orders placed. Our server never came to refill drinks or even ask if we needed anything. Food was cooked well and delicious as usual but something about the bad service left a bad taste in my mouth
