Deborah and I are trying a new Mexican restaurant in Magnolia. Great salsa with the chips, salsa is a little runny. Debbie had Chile Rellenos and I had el Rey Enchiladas (beef steak) off the lunch menu. Prices are very reasonable and portions are large for a lunch menu. Desserts were good, only offer four though. As Gen. MacArthur once said, “I’ll be back.”

I was driving home and saw this restaurant was in the same place as one of Magnolia’s best Chinese restaurants from over a decade ago, so I decided to stop in. The place looked real nice; decorations made a nice atmosphere. The food was pretty good, as well. Essentially, I ordered a Magnolia Plate from Antigua’s, but it has a different name here and is #45 on the menu. Unfortunately, it costed me $19 for the meal, which is pretty expensive for such a simple meal. In El Dorado at Fernando’s, I pay $14 for this meal and $17 at La Villa, but the portion is huge at La Villa, so it’s like getting two meals. Anyway, everything was good about this place, except for the price.

I took my 94 year old Aunt to lunch there. The staff was very attentive to my Aunt’s needs. They held the door open for us when we entered and exited. The food was very good and reasonably priced.

About on the same playing level, maybe a little behind the other ones scattered all around town. The ones we’ve had for awhile. A long while. Antiquas for example. Nothing worth making a big deal out of or getting excited over. The service needs to be worked on in a bad way. Both the outside & inside needs lots of remodeling, attention, & maintenance. To bring it to 21st century standards. And modernize. And to make it look and feel more like a Mexican restaurant. That’s been an empty and unused building for years. I hope someone comes up with an good idea for parking. Ill give this place 2 yrs to prove its worthiness. Good luck. This place might end up surprising all of us. Lol

The staff are very friendly and check on their tables well, the food is also just great! The owner also helped us charge our car battery after it died in the parking lot without hesitation. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

It was so hot in there, food wasn’t anything that blew me away, waitress took forever, just not a good experience for me.
