My wife and I went here around 4:30 p.m. on a Tuesday. There was no other customers. I ordered a beer, she ordered a pineapple margarita. We ordered and the waitress never wrote it down. My wife’s food was wrong. She didn’t get her margarita until after we got our food. They said the margarita machine wasn’t frozen. Give us one on the rocks. This was a very disappointing experience. The food was nothing special. The drinks were not good and the service was bad. If you want a good experience, don’t go here.

We have been wanting to check this place out for a while. The parking lot was a bit more full then usual so we figured it’s catching on and worth a visit. Well, it surely was! Let me start off with, this is the best cheese dip in Hattie, salsa wasn’t lacking in flavor either. We made a modification to on dish as we weren’t sure about the Guajillo sauce, however it was good in small portions(the orange sauce we got on the side). Neither dish we selected came with rice & beans however due to portion size it wasn’t needed.

Loved the restaurant. Personal was great, very attentive. Food was delicious. Chips weee cold and tough but salsa awesome, had the perfect amount of heat.

Horrble experience! I asked what type of quesadilla was on the lunch menu for $9.99. The server replied steak. Yeah! I ordered steak with queso. My sister ordered chicken no queso. The salsa tasted like diced tomatoes with no seasoning. We ordered pico to doctor it. Food arrives….I was served chicken quesadilla with queso cheese covering it. My sister was served the steak with no queso. When I brought it to the server’s attention, she just looked at us and commented that the cook mixed it up. No offer to fix it. She suggested we trade plates. My sister told her that she does not want queso on her food. The server just looked at us and walked away. We ended up scraping cheese off one and I ate mine dry. Big disappointment. Time to pay up….we were charged dinner prices and we were charged for the queso!! We were told that the queso was charged like a side. I didn’t get queso on my steak quesadilla I reminded her. The man at the register argued with her in Spanish. She then translated that the lunch quesadilla was shredded chicken. What?? I asked. She told me steak. That was an overcharge of $3 for my sister’s and $6 for mine plus the $2 for the queso I didn’t get. Another server stepped in and offered to take my name and number. She would give it to the manager, so he might give us a discount for the next time we come in. I am from out of town. Two wrongs and I won’t eat here again!!

Fajitas were very good. Rice was a little dry, refried beans were good. Chips were ok and salsa was too hot for me that day. Tortillas were great.

As someone who eats all over the country and LOVES Mexican food, whether it’s from a food truck or hole in the wall shack or a sit down restaurant. This place was a HUGE disappointment.

I travel to Mississippi for work on Thursdays and stop here for lunch. The food is great and the staff is nice. I’d only recommend less seasoning on the taco meat, but it still taste great.

We love both locations of Don Chuys. The one on Hwy 49 near Hardy is usually quiet, and we like that. We enjoyed everything except I was disappointed in the chicken quessadilla, which seemed to have too much cheese.

The food here has been fantastic. Absolutely the best Mexican food I’ve had outside of Texas. It’s easy to tell that they use quality ingredients and the sauces, tamales, etc. are all made in house. Lends to an authentic taste.

They got our order wrong the first time and took it back to fix it and my daughter’s came back with all the vegetables still on it when she asked for just stake and cheese nothing else. I ate her plate because she was not going to touch it. But I was allergic to tomatoes at one time they either brake me out or make my mouth swollen but not anymore thankfully. They could hardly speak English as well.
