V’s was packed (as always), so we popped over to Dolce’s for our first time. Service was fantastic, pizza was good- crust was amazing. Calamari was basic. The table at our booth slid all over the place; granted, we had three boys with us, but it was rather annoying. I knocked off one star for pricing. Too much $$$ for the overall experience.

The food was pretty good for a pizza spot, the Stromboli was great size but a little costly compared to other spots. My only gripe is the canoli was pretty lackluster.its filling didn’t seem like it was a proper mixture and was lacking on the chocolate chips inside.

That was the last time! The owner is too busy trying to nickel and dime you to make it an enjoyable experience any longer. He is going to drive himself out of business because like much of his wait staff, I’m done going there. The guy is literally making dry food so that he can charge you more for it to taste good. The best is that they don’t tell you it’s going to be an extra charge, and then he argues with you like he doesn’t already have a 400% markup on it. You lost another loyal customer, and based off your reviews it’s not us it’s you!

I keep trying to like this place bc it’s a small business BUT it’s a total let down, the pizza is fine but for the price it’s a pass for my family. I’ve tried at least 5 times, different items in store and tonight delivery. Tonight was the last straw. I order a pasta dinner togo, it included bread and a salad, I added chicken- up charge $4, I selected caesar- up charge $5, see photo. I called to ask why I was charged an upgrade when my salad was just some iceberg and pizza cheese, I was told the salad I received was the upgraded and put on hold.. indefinitely.. Honestly I should have know better then to call the food tastes about as great at this upgraded salad.

This place is by far the best pizza in Jacksonville. Now they have a grilled chicken salad that is so fresh, so tasty, it is amazing. Trying to cut down on carbs I eat this salad at least 2x per week. The owners are so friendly, it is like eating with family. Everyone should check this place out, food is fresh and great.

Dolces give you great food, reasonable prices, and friendly owner/hosts who are second to none. Sometimes you want to eat somewhere that is truly a pleasure to walk into. This is the place. Every time you walk in the first thing you get is a smile. They make a fresh grilled chicken salad that is superb. Best lunch in Jax. Had two slices of pizza today, felt like I was back in NY. Their strombolis are amazing, the steak and cheese one is out of this world. This is a great place for Italian food including pizza and more. My highest recommendation!
