Dog ‘N’ Suds has been serving Robinson, IL and Crawford County continuously since 1953. It has remained in the same location for 67 years.
This restaurant is the throwback to a simpler time. Good food, good times, and the Root Beer and Coney dogs are exactly what you have come to expect and cherish.
Just remember when you came to the drive up and ordered through the speaker, then a short wait and you received exactly what you ordered!
Come back again. We have expanded our hours from 11:00AM to 09:00 seven days a week. So, you can get your Texas burger basket and those delicious fries (we went back to the old style fries instead of wedges) every single day!
Based on 375 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.5 stars. Price $

I’ve loved Dog ‘N’ Suds since I was a teenager. I understand why but the deep fried mushrooms being cut in half seems to lose some flavor. The staff was great, the food was great and I love the frosted mug of root beer.

Amazing! Friendly staff, unique food and dinning experience, you don’t see many real drive in eateries anymore. The food is always fresh and hot, coney dog is one of a kind on flavor, fries are superb as well as the burgers. The root beer alone is worth the trip! My family and I have made stopping by Dog n Suds a tradition when we come to the city to swim at Pelican Cove. Keep up the great work!

Service is good only 2 people working they should have had more working though the 2 there were running their butts off. Food is a bit pricey but good except the ribeye sandwich which I have always gotten used to be good but the last time I was there it was paper thin. I feel for the price of it it should be better. It’s still a good place to eat though!

I love Dog ‘n Suds root beer and was glad to get a chance to go to a drive-in. If you go, get a glass of root beer in a frosty mug!

We have been to this place several times in the past, which is an hour drive for us, but we won’t be returning anytime soon. We paid $27 for less-than-appetizing food. They must have changed owners, because the chili was watery and tasted like tomato juice, the slaw on the slaw dog was dry and tasteless and the Bun was old and crumbly. The zucchini was decent, but the breaded mushrooms were cut in half and tasted old. NOT to mention, they charged extra for one single ranch dipping sauce. It has went downhill very much, in our opinions.

This restaurant looked original, right out of the 60s. The young staff worked well together and didn’t mess around getting our food to us. We received it fast, hot, and exactly as we had ordered it. The food was delicious and tasted as good as it did back in the day. Delicious! The coney dog basket with a root beer made for the perfect lunch! Good job guys!

So glad we came here today. Tastes just as good as it did years ago. Got the Texas Burger and Onion Rings with a frosty mug of root beer. So good all the way around. Thick burger patties. Thick onion rings. Mmmmm! Will definitely be back!

Dog N Suds is always an enjoyable visit. Their root beer served in a frosty mug is unbeatable. The coney dogs are great. As are the pizza burgers. Their fried mushrooms are insanely good! You can also purchase the root beer by the gallon and half gallon.

Quaint and classic little place. They have amazing root beer floats and the coney dogs are excellent.

Onion rings were burnt. They don’t accept bank or credit cards. Coney was not good.
