I don’t go to A&w often. There’s not many of them in Iowa left, but I was really happy to go here on my way through Wisconsin but highly recommend it had a big frosted glass mugs. The root beer was just amazing. The food was good too but just being able to go to a place like this again. Really was cool. They have the old school drive-ins but they also have a place inside where you can sit and eat if you want to get out of your car.

The staff were friendly and the food was good. The place really needs some TLC. The garbage bins were overflowing and there were cigarette butts gathered against the parking bumps. I and the kids planned to eat inside but there was a sign on the door that the lobby was closed. There were dirty mugs sitting outside on one of the trays and the windows around the restaurant were covered in dust/dirt. The back door is visible from the park-to-order stalls and someone had set several bags of garbage out there. Because the lobby was closed, I had to ring the order button to get more ketchup and a spoon for the applesauce I had ordered. We sat at the front picnic table area and there were plenty of flies due to the garbage can and discarded food under the tables. It could really just use a rag and a bucket around the outside and a leaf blower to kick out the debris. The landscaping was nice at one point but weeds are taking over. It’s basic stuff, really, and it would make a huge difference in how the establishment feels.

We were told the black raspberry was the cone of the day over the speaker. We ordered 2 large ones. The car hop came out took our money and said the ice cream is a little runny, you might want a bowl with it. She went back in and came out with the cones upside down, smashed in a dish with a spoon. What a mess. $6.10 for 2 cones that were smooshed upside down in a bowl. I pulled the cone off and it had very little ice cream attached . We were ticked. Had she said that it was runny and best suited for a dish we would have gone with the plain vanilla and chocolate. Not a good experience

Two nice people waited on me, the food came very quickly, and the burger was great. The meat was hot and the lettuce/tomato were cold and fresh. I was very impressed.

After waiting 20 minutes for my food, my pork sandwich was still cold. Let the cashier know and was given my sandwich back that the workers had touched after handling money and running out orders. After asking for a new sandwich, the new sandwich was frozen in the center. From the back, the other worker in charge could be heard saying “I warmed it up for 50 seconds this time, if it’s still cold they can just deal with it or leave. Cry me a river.” Another burger that was ordered was missing some of its toppings. Was not a great experience .
