Heavy Metal Church
Looks are deceiving! Heavy Metal Church has a stop in Nashville this weekend and we stopped in for breakfast at this amazing place! It is old school, tiny but if you travel as much as we do you will find those are the best places to eat! Amazing staff and this is truly home cooked food!

This is a great little hole in the wall cafe. Only about 6 tables then bar seating. No one under 21 allowed in and yes you can smoke. The best old fashioned, thick hand made hamburger just like they used to make before fast food. Definitely will be back. The ladies working there he have the best personalities. They just made it the best experience ever

We were traveling through Springfield looking for a good country breakfast…and on the 4th of July that was no easy task since most all local places are closed. We pulled in about to go in and were informed they had already closed early for the holiday. Saddened we asked how far it was to the Waffle House and the precious lady said she was not letting us go to the Waffle House and she would gladly serve us. It was so appreciated! Everything was wonderful from the food to the service to the conversations with the many regulars that were still there when we walked in…could not have been better! We felt very welcome and will definitely go back and try lunch, I hear the burgers are delicious!

They say the burgers are good here but I didn’t get that. I spent 18 dollars for a pork chop breakfast plate. I got gravy on my potatoes, they tasted weird. Like they had been soaking in soapy water or something, just weird. They grilled my biscuit because I asked for butter on it. It was okay but you could taste the burger grease which was also weird haha. The pork chop was already white when they put it on the grill. I could only guess that it had been long frozen and then left to soak in water before being cooked? I’m trying imagine how you could make a pork chop taste like that. It was very old and not good tasting.

Very old small Cafe. The bacon burger was so big I almost couldn’t get my mouth around it. It was an excellent burger. Wife had a patty melt and she said it was good. I think it’s probably a place where the locals hang out. I would go back.

Three for the food. It might even rate a four. Two for service because the server sat at the bar smoking. That isn’t acceptable anywhere in 2023. That is why the atmosphere got only a one. This place could easily be a hidden gem, but it doesn’t make the grade at all.

I have no idea how this place has so many shining reviews but it’s very suspicious. We are new to the area and were looking for a nice breakfast spot but trust me, this is NOT it y’all! We walked in and immediately felt uncomfortable. The place is extremely dirty, there were flies everywhere, one of the waitresses was in what looked like a nightgown dress with slippers and smoking a cigarette while sitting at the diner counter. We went in and sat down for about 3 minutes before we decided we just couldn’t do it and walked out.

Hamburgers are some of the best around. I would most certainly recommend eating here. One thing to keep in mind, you must be at least 21 to enter the restaurant. Not because of alcohol, but they allow smoking in the building. If you don’t like others smoking around you, then this is not your place. Smoking is the only reason why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars.

A great little Southern dive! Had the philly cheese steak and it was excellent! The staff were friendly and very accommodating for my keto diet (had the philly with no bread option) and I felt great knowing that I was patronizing a family owned establishment that’s been around since 1953!

The ladies are awesome. Very friendly. The food is very good. They were extremely helpful helping my wife with food choices not on the menu. We will definitely be back.
