I’ve been looking for a decent pizza in the Garner/Clayton area for the last 2-3 years since I moved here from up north. Some of the places I tried were ok – none really great, some downright forgettable. I got around to trying Divano’s ( 2 large cheese pizza special) about a week ago. When I got home and took a bite of a slice with my wife, we both nodded to one another and said this is the place we’ve been seeking for delicious pizza. I was super stoked because I love pizza and to find one that puts a smile on my face is heartwarming – because now I know where to satisfy that craving itch. I know what your thinking…yes, I have only had the one experience…but it excites me such that I’m quite confident that this pizza’s quality is the norm. I’ll find out soon enough.

My wife and I went here for dinner our first night in town. While it’s clear the place does most of their business through takeout and food places like DoorDash, it’s a cozy little place inside. The staff were supper friendly and polite. My wife had the ravioli which she said was delicious and saucy. I had the shrimp scampi which was filled with shrimp, which I didn’t expect. The only thing was it came with a lot of butter sauce with it, which was good with the two pieces of bread it came with but there was still sauce left over.

Quality of the pizza seems to have gone up recently, or maybe I have just gotten lucky. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the pizza overall was cooked properly. Service was friendly and fast.

This is the second time I ordered from Divano’s and I should have learned my lesson the first time. Had a delivery this evening for a large cheese pizza. When the pizza arrived half to almost all the cheese had slid off the pizza. I wouldn’t have paid over twenty dollars for soggy bread. Besides the fact both times we ordered from them we asked for the pizza to be cooked well done. When I tried to call the restaurant both times no one answered. There is no voicemail to leave a message for an owner or manager. Zero customer service. The only reason I am giving it two stars is because the food was still reasonably hot when it arrived and was delivered quickly.

Divanos is under new management and we just had to try them out, so for comparison sake we got the same as we have done with various establishments within the area, Large Cheese Pie, Greek Salad and Water. The pie was very tasty, the sauce has the NY style flavor (yes we are originally from NY) the crust coyld be just a little crisper but met our expectation. The Greek salad had all the required ingredients and very fresh, the dressing somewhat italian yet very delicious. The Owner and the Staff extremely friendly and helpful and due to a small wait they offered us either garlic knots or a slice of grandma’s pizza which was delicious as well.
