Atlanta Eats was spot on again!! Not sure why they got a 4.3 rating. The appetizers were amazing. We had the meatballs and shrimp cocktail. Great tasting meatballs and the shrimp were huge. I hate going somewhere and have to pay for bread, but it had a great taste. My kids had the Lasagna. First time I’ve ever seen a Lasagna roll. They thought the sauce was great and when you got to the middle there was plenty of meat. I had the Veal Parmigiana and a side of pasta with sauce. Very tender veal!!! Great tomato sauce. Great tasting drinks!!! Not watered down. The hotel next door will valet park, but don’t use the garage. No military discount. Overall, great experience and I will go back.

Disappointing experience overall. We ordered the steak medium. It came medium well. We ordered the eggplant parmesan. It was very dry and we let our server know. She shared that is done by intent by the chef. No clue why since it’s not good. Shishito peppers were great. All food was room temp, not hot. It looked and tasted like it had sat under a heat lamp for a few minutes. Service was fine. Valet is over priced. I would not go back or recommend it to others.

We stayed at the Thompson for the weekend. The Dirty Rascal is located on the first floor of the hotel. We had a reservation for 7:15, but did not get credit for it. The decor and ambiance was in line with the hotel. It’s a very chic mid century modern type of vibe. Very nice. We were seated promptly and ordered the shrimp cocktail and bread basket for starters. Both were very delicious. The cocktail sauce tasted like it was house made with fresh horseradish and the bread was seasoned with garlic and spices. It was accompanied with EVOO. Our entrees were the steak Diane and lamb bolognese with cheese tortellini. The steak was cooked perfect but was a bad cut of meat. It was overly fatty and tough. The lamb bolognese was very delicious and the side of broccolini was really good too. Overall, I would dine here again to try other menu items except the steak Diane. As a side note, we sat at the bar on a different night and had the meatballs. They were very delicious.

We stopped by here to try out the restaurant as we were going to visit the rooftop later in the evening. We’d heard great things about the Spicy Rigatoni and that it tasted like Carbone’s Spicy Rigatoni. It came in real close to Carbone’s and was tasty. We also tried the burrata which I loved! The Chicken Marsala was also delicious. Overall, I would come back here again to try other dishes and enjoy some pasta as well.

The service was very slow and the food was sub par at best. I brought my wife here for her birthday dinner since we were staying at the Thompson hotel. We started with cocktails and were excited to try the tirimisu martini that excitement was crushed when we were told they were out of mascarpone so the item couldn’t be made. We opted for regular espresso martinis instead mine without the cream and my wife with. We both preferred my choice w/o. cream. We ordered the mussels, Caesar salad, calamari and the tortellini and lamb bolognese. The only item enjoyable were the mussels. The calamari was undercooked and barely breaded. The salad had entirely too much dressing and the dressing had an overwhelming Mayo taste. The tortellini had a cheap tasting cheese sauce on top that completely ruined the dish. We were extremely disappointed by this, obviously not having good food completely ruined her birthday dinner. Our server was a polite gentleman but not efficient he would take forever to come back to check on us even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at this time. He actually suggested we come back during weekday lunch while there’s a specific chef there that apparently cooks better than the others. I am puzzled and disappointed by this because why aren’t all of your chefs up to par?? I really hope this issue is handled so that we can give this place another try.

My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary here on Sunday. We enjoyed everything – our server was great, and the host checked on us frequently to make sure everything went well.

The food was good, the service was good and the drinks were good. The bar is beautiful. We left thinking everything was… fine. It was pricey for what it was, I’m guessing because it’s in the Thompson Hotel. A few of the highlights: They make a good martini (and have blue cheese olives!) and the shrimp cocktail was fresh and flavorful. I’d stop by for a drink and small plate if in the area.

Made reservations here b/c we were staying in the Thompson. Everything was on point, from food to service. First, know that the entrees are served family-style. But trust me, try different things and you’ll have a meal to take home. We started with the meatballs. Phenomenal. Next, I added on a caesar salad, in the half-sized portion. That salad was still huge! My wife had some soup and enjoyed it as well. We DID share the lasagna, and it was just perfection. It came out portioned in seven individual servings in one big bowl, full of sauce. It was serious business. We couldn’t even do dessert because we were so full. We didn’t have drinks ks here because we planned to bar hop immediately after, but they looked great as well. And the bar was very lively that Saturday night. Our server was full of life and laughs, I’d recommend him any day. The menu is concise, but what they do, they do well, which is what counts.
