I can not believe as a Charlotte native this is my first time going here. It was so so good and prices just right. Service was very friendly. Ordered the food and I barely seemed to have time to look at my phone and it was out at my table. And it came out piping hot and fresh so definitely was no question on that. I will most certainly be back.

My family and I ate here for lunch today and the food was “OK”. I ordered the calabash shrimp and perch for $12.95. The fish fillets (if you can call them that) were very small. The plate had a lot of shrimp but for $12.95 I expected larger fish fillets especially because a side dish was not included. My husband had the beef and rice meal with collard greens and fried okra. The beef was very dry and the collards tasted like spinach. The fried okra tasted fine. He also had cornbread which was dry. My son ordered a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and he said it was delicious. The sweet tea was really good. The interior could use some updating. The service was friendly. All in all the restaurant was ok.

I only had coffee, went with a friend and he had country ham, bacon and a short stack. Food looked good, but when I asked if they served any pastries I was told ‘no’ by the waiter. When we left my friend inquired about carrot cake sign, which they do serve, along with banana pudding, etc….

For what it is, a family run diner, I think it is a good choice. Waitresses were nice and my bacon egg and cheese sandwich was great. Make sure you read the menu, there is an up charge for additions or substitutions. It can add up quickly. My sandwich was fantastic. The grits that my husband had were good. Portions are very large. The only thing that threw us was that the Texas Pete seemed a little watered down. I would return.

I was invited for breakfast and was happy from beginning to end . I ordered flounder, eggs/w cheese, and grits. The grits were the bomb flounder was ok, and they also served toast on the side. You get a larger portion size for your buck. I guess since covid-19, everything has gone up in price. Definitely plan on returning

Have been coming here for years! I ordered my eggs scrambled light but when I got them I said they are fried hard and the waitress stated” they are scrambled light” she had a complete attitude! I stated I didn’t want to food at all and she took it away! She actually talked to the owner and not once did he come over to apologize or show any concern at all! They will nickel and dime you for every single thing and appear to be overpriced! They are glad to take the money from African Americans but will not respect you in anyway shape or form! 75 percent of there business is from black people but they could care less about respecting you as a customer! We will never ever go back!
