Dilbar was recommended to us by some locals. We’ve never had Indian food before … and man have we missed out!! The portions at Dilbar are plentiful, sharing size for 2 people. Each dish offered a perfect heaping of flavor and spice. The veggies were fresh and crisp. After a long day of hiking, we decided to dine in. As we waited for our food (maybe 10min), it was a comforting feeling to see sooo many people come in and out picking up ToGo Orders. The atmosphere is laid back, fun music going, quick service, in the heart of downtown. With so many choices, I only wish we had more time here to try everything. We will certainly be back at least one more time before we leave.

Why are you reading this review, when you could already be eating at this incredible place?!? Some of the most flavorful, perfectly spiced food you’ll ever eat. Served hot, delicious, and will fill you up for a good price. There aren’t any misses on this menu. Lamb, chicken, vegetarian… Get anything and everything you want. Chili chicken served crispy and spicy, lamb frankie served with an incredible sauce.

Tried their Papdi chat, Bhel puri and Chole bhature (2 small-medium size bhatures per plate). Food was fine…nothing exceptional, nor was it bad. Be prepared to wait a bit for your order to be ready as it seemed like a busy place.

There is a surprisingly amount of great Indian restaurants in Asheville. This is definitely a great one. Lots of unique dishes not found on a typical menu like samosas chaat, dosa, frankies. Everything was tasty. Would come back again.

A pleasant and tasty experience. Fair value, good flavor. We shared a Chick Tikka Dosa and Chili Chicken. Chili Chicken was on par with any I have gotten better than average. Dosa was huge and stuffed with Chicken Tika. Had a Kingfisher chaser to complete the experience. Atmosphere was casual and mimicked a stress restaurant vibe. Priced fair for the location.

If you are OK with eating and small paper and styrofoam plates, this may be the place for you. This place does Indian street food really well. You can’t go wrong with any of their dishes, and they are all moderately priced for the area. You can expect to pay $12-$16 for any dish.
