Stopped today to visit what was once one of our favorite Sunday restaurants. It was nice to see them building a much larger area at the entrance for accommodating guests before getting seated. Glad to see that. There was no line for the dining room…which seemed pleasantly unusual. However….we we not permitted to sit in the dining room…because it was only for patrons eating from the breakfast buffet. We have no interest at all in sitting at the counter where you could order from the menu. Nor are we interested In a buffet of any kind. ….and if we ordered breakfast…it would probably come from the buffet anyway. Guess we lost our favorite Sunday morning restaurant.

Visited the Diner for Father’s Day. 2 of us had stuffed cabbage with mashed potatoes. Very good. The other 2 had the tenderloin, sliced with mashed potatoes. They said the meat had good flavor but it was a bit tough. Overall, a good visit. Bought Dad a coconut creme pie. His favorite pie there at the diner!

The new Manager, Eric, was very present and personable! We did not notice a difference in food quality or quantity under very new ownership. Prices may be slightly higher, but easily attributed to increased food costs (for instance, eggs). Waitress was not all that great, but not terrible. We were there on a Friday morning around 9:30. Not too crowded but lines when we left.

My eggs were not done the way I wanted them. The home fries looked under cooked. Pancakes are smaller than before. Toast was burnt. Bacon not crispy. Time to get the food was poor. Ever since the restaurant was bought by new owner, the quality is not the same.

Great, spacious diner along Rt 22 West. Ample parking and table, booth, and counter seating. Great home-cooked food at a reasonable price. The wait staff are very nice, friendly, and accommodating.

With the new ownership, I had hoped that the food would improve. We had high hopes yesterday and still they don’t know the basics of basic cooking. Can someone please go in the kitchen and teach these folks how to cook an egg? The Omelette, while portions are generous, was a dried out, crumbly overcooked mass . It’s not supposed to be brown on the outside. And scrambled eggs, just google the recipe. It’s easy. You simply need to add milk or water, or better yet, milk and water so it steams as it cooks. NOT simply crack an egg over a hot griddle and sorta kinda mix it together so your customer is served a flat, dried out yellow in spots, white in spots (from not incorporating the yolk and whites) and brownish all over lump and call it a scrambled egg accompanied by with barely toasted toast. They’re eggs, folks. The first thing you learn how to cook as a kid. Just awful.

Hometown Diner, nice atmosphere, good food, friendly staff. There is a dining room as well as the front bar/counter area. Specials change daily as do the homemade pie selections. Portion size is almost a little to much. Hot turkey sandwich was good as was the meatloaf dinner. Didn’t save room for dessert at the table but took home a slice of strawberry topped cheesecake and it was delicious . Prices are great for what you get.

Sad to say this was a waste of time and money. It took forever for my sandwich to arrive. When it did come to my table it would have been nice if there was corned beef on it. Barely enough beef for half a sandwich let alone a whole one. I’m sure there was sourkraut and dressing on there somewhere but can’t say for sure. Needless to say that close at 3 or 4 o’clock and probably a good thing they do. VERY disappointing.

They kept the name but that’s all the new owners kept. Used to be one of our go to spots, visited Sunday around 10 and there was a line, no problem. We saw a seat open in the front so when the woman cleared it we took it, she seemed agitated that we sat there. She gave us the menu and told us about the buffet and said off the menu was 45 to 50 minute wait. We ordered off the menu anyway. Coffee was never refilled until we asked a second time, my wife’s omlett came out and I was told they were still waiting on mine but gave me my English muffin. So I ate that and finally something close to an omlett came out, funny thing though it was just the omlett no home fries. What I think happened was someone else took my omlett and she told them she needed one on the fly so all they made was an omlett. We were so frustrated by the poor service at this point I didn’t even say anything and the server didn’t even notice. We ate and were given our check and I set cash out and waited and waited and waited, finally we took most of the cash back, left enough to cover the bill and left. The woman that seated us as we were leaving said bye and when I was half out he door she said to everyone in the front, guess they didn’t like it. You got that right, poor experience for a once very good place. Lost another couple customers but doubt you will care.
