It was my first time going there. I thought that the ribs would have more of a smoke taste than they had. I was disappointed. I am speaking of the ribs only. The green beans and the Mac & cheese were fine. There’s ample parking, clean restrooms, and free ice cream after the meal.

We stopped by on our way home from visiting the hospital in Lafayette. The food was good, and the service was great! The restaurant was clean and it was reasonably priced. Very nice people. Felt like the old days when people welcomed you into their business as a special guest. We will be back if we are ever in the area again.

Had carryout. Got charged to credit card twice. They never refunded the duplicate charge. Communicated with them over and over again. They kept on saying they would refund duplicate but NEVER did.

The brisket is pretty dry and one of the worst I’ve ever had, and the potato salad is totally wrong for Texas BBQ (waaaay too much sugar). Their beans are sugary South Carolina beans and not spicy Texas BBQ beans. I thought all this was unfortunate but fine until I saw a sign claiming this is Texas BBQ. This is not Texas BBQ. I mean, it comes with a dinner roll instead of sliced bread, and, if you kindly request “lots of pickles,” you get five little weird-tasting slices. The polish sausage and ribs are ok. The spicy sauce is passable for a pretty good bottled chain grocery store sauce. Still not Texas, though. Stop trying to find Texas BBQ in Louisiana.

I just moved to Lafayette 6 wks ago and have been craving BBQ. Decided to try Dickeys on Mother’s Day and boy I was disappointed. I ordered a bbq chicken breast w/ Mac n cheese, baked potato casserole, and pecan pie. I didn’t receive my pecan pie at all and the chicken was NOT bbq’d. It was grilled on the stove at best and was not tasty at all. I will not be returning to this restaurant, not even to get my pecan pie they forgot to give me.
