We stopped by Diamond Heart Cattlemen’s Steakhouse after a day of boating at Bear Lake. We absolutely loved this place. The staff was so welcoming, our waitress was so sweet and attentive. The burgers were amazing! And huge! Also an Idaho girl like me LIVES for fresh cut fries with some fry sauce. This place does it right.

Prices are significantly higher than was the menu posts are currently on line. Many of the dishes were not available (we drove 2 hours to have the tomahawk steak – not available). Sodas are by the can (no refills). We did not eat here. Too many missing dishes. The server was very nice – hence the reason for 2 stars.

Our server Kylie was very kind and polite. She checked on us every minute or 2. The steak was phenomenal. The cook Tanner made my medium rare steak perfect. I couldn’t be more pleased. It’s to bad we don’t live in Idaho, because we’d be guests they would see a lot. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a great meal….

Worst steak I’ve ever had. My husband and I got the rib eye ordered medium. I like a little pink. It was so over cooked you could hardly cut it, let alone chew it. The onion blossom was also bad. No flavor. Spent 100.00 one ate my salad and part of my baked potato. Most expensive salad I’ve ever had. Save yourself the grief and just don’t go. Our waitress was nice enough.

This place was so highly recommended to us. my husband was served his drink, and I didn’t even get mine until dinner was served ( She had to keep going in the back to check it to see if they had certain outdoors which were basic sodas). we chucked it up because the waitress was extremely young, but for the amount of money that we spent there, I just felt like the urgency of customer service just wasn’t there for us. The waitress kept coming back saying they were out of certain things after we had placed our order and I felt like she should have known that these things before we placed our order. there’s nothing like wanting to order something and you place that order and then you’re told you can’t have it because they don’t have it. The waitress had friends in the building, and I feel like they got more attention than we did. Again, because of the amount of our bill, which was huge, we just felt like it wasn’t worth it, and we won’t be returning.

Omg. Service was RIDICULOUS. The server wasn’t old enough to serve beer which would’ve been fine except the coke was flat and our drinks remained empty the entire time we were there. Which ultimately ended up amounting to well over an hour before we received our food. No updates given, no comments, no checking to see if we needed anything in the meantime. Further, when we asked for refills on drinks it took ten minutes to get those. Our side salad never came, even after asking for it again, and when we went to go get the check, our server was standing in the back doing nothing while the table up front was full of empty plates and the other server was assisting a customer who had also walked up to get their check. There were well over nine empty tables, maybe more. There were at most roughly 10 people in there, ourselves included, at three tables being actively served, one of the three had just walked in and sat down about ten or so minutes before our food came out. They said they’d had a big rush so we tried to be patient but c’mon! The food was good and the place appeared clean, I will give them that. By the time I walked out however, I was so incredibly irritated I don’t know that I’d ever go back.

We were the ONLY customers, still took over 50 minutes to receive our food and then had to remind our server about our salads and drinks. Food was OK. Hubs steak was good. My corn tasted old and musty.

We were fortunate enough to come right when it opened. I just want to start by saying, get the ice tea. It’s soooo good. The service was great. I got the Ranch Hand Burger. My fries and burger were well seasoned and the cheese was that perfect ewwy gooey goodness that it was melting down the side. A must try when you come to Montpelier.
