This is the best BBQ in New Orleans, hands down. Stopped in around 2PM on a Sunday before the Saints game and was surprised to find plenty of parking spots so close to the restaurant, and it was free on Sundays! We were greeted immediately when we walked in the door, and service could not have been better or friendlier. They clearly knew the system and were able to take our order swiftly, but without ever feeling like we were being rushed. I know very well how BBQ places operate, they’ve got it til they sell out. But we were able to get everything we wanted! We shared a three-meat plate between two people with fatty brisket, massive pork ribs, sausage, red beans & rice, and coleslaw. All for just $26! They even brought out some of their house-made pimento cheese, deep-fried saltines, and candies jalapenos for us to try. AND you can get the beers from Saint X Brewery on draft (or bring some home in cans). The brewery is connected to Devil Moon, so even if you come in right before they close, you can just walk straight in to the brewery for more. We got the saison which was fabulous, but the real star was the Sunny Shine Citrus Sour Ale. We both agreed that is our new favorite local beer. We went over to the brewery after and got another round, where the whole experience continued to wow us. This place isn’t even in our area, and will DEFINITELY be coming back!!

Closest thing to Texas BBQ in the city. Quality brisket with pickles, onions, a Big Red, a slice of white bread, and some killer sides is impossible to find anywhere else. The potato salad and coleslaw were particularly good. The brisket was flavorful and well-prepared. If there’s anything to tweak: we’d prefer a bit of extra smokiness (may be limited by their pit location/infrastructure) and different pickles (they appear to be made in house but not your standard dill flavor). Thanks for a great meal!

No very good, our app of pimento cheese, was missing candied jalapenos. Food was bland and the potatoe salad was mashed potato salad. The cashier was not knowledgeable of the menu or food. I was let down. How ever if you have no idea of BBQ you may enjoy yourself more. If you are a food hound scratch this one off the list, also blue oak BBQ can’t be far off from this since the owners cross reference. 🙁 It was expensive and no happy faces here!

Had a very good pulled pork sando and a spicy, smoky frito pie! Clean. Quick service. A nice vibe. The sauces were great! Will return.

Great place to grab some lunch down in the CBD. Atmosphere is open and lots of places to seat large parties. They have a trailer out back where they smoke all their meat. Staff and chefs are all local New Orleans cats. Very friendly. Got a fresh slice of ribs, turkey, and sausage. Couldn’t decide which one to not finish because I was so full. Come in with an empty stomach. Only problem was the cap for their mustard sauce was too small. I wanted to smother everything in it.

When I heard that Chef Shannon was back at it again, I had to come check it out. I was a huge fan of Blue Oak from back when they first opened, and I loved Emmylou’s. This has taken the crown for best barbeque in the city for me. The fatty brisket especially is something special for me. Most places for my taste have a thick streak of fat half the time that makes it almost slimy. This had the fat beautifully marbled throughout, but still extremely juicy. The bark was also incredible. As someone who is not the biggest fan of sweeter molasses based sauces, the mustard based sauce is honestly breathtakingly good. I’d almost drink it straight it’s so good.

This place opened at 11 am on Tuesday and by noon they were out of Brisket. WTH. There was no crowd nothing. They obviously were to lazy to smoke any on the days before. I am sure the food is good but if you can’t figure out your customer flow find another business. If your going to try it out make sure you have a backup plan.
