If you enjoy BBQ, order here! There was only one employee working so it took about 20-25 minutes from the time we arrived to waiting in line, placing order, and receiving our order, but we weren’t in any rush and our meal was well-worth the wait. The brisket, ribs, and pulled pork were fresh, hot, and delicious with sauce included right on each meat. Mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful. Cornbread was served as a cupcake which was fun for our little to enjoy. We also ordered nachos and cheese which were a big hit — the chips appeared to be custom-seasoned and Derrick Jr has us wanting nachos & cheese with our BBQ now! There is minimal seating inside and Derrick Jr.’s shares a space with a Cookie Dough bar. We took our order outside in the courtyard and ate. Only first-world problem we encountered was we wish they had a fountain pop machine. Only bottled options of soda were available. We would still all happily go back and dine!

The pulled pork Mac & cheese is my current favorite bbq item. It’s so flavorful and tender. I also used to love his fried chicken, hibachi and yum yum chicken sandwich back when he had them on the menu.

*uck, this guy.. is all we kept saying as we are shoving this masterpiece of his amazing sampler down our throats, Unfortunately for us this place is right around the corner, holy hell, the best BBQ I have ever had ever period. and I lived in St. Louis and was in the military down south with some wizards, this man is a jedi master, second to none. *uck, this guy has wicked skills.

Came through Sandusky for the day and wanted to try something from a small business. Came into Derrick Jr’s and talked to him about his experiences. His food was phenomenal. I got the Brisket Nachos and Collard Greens and let me say that I will definitely be going back whenever I’m next in the area!

Had the pleasure of getting food from this restaurant yesterday after visiting Cedar Point. Ordered the ribs, Mac & Cheese and Greens and everything tasted great! I must say the ribs were tender and greens were seasoned great, I most definitely will be back. Also the two young men that were working were very professional and polite!

I am speechless and rarely write reviews and…this place is absolutely amazing. The food taste like the best cook in your family and then go up 2 notches. The service is incredible and the atmosphere is the best part of home. The prices are extremely affordable and after tasting the food, if it wasn’t affordable, I would save in order to come and have this food experience.

Absolutely over this place, Derek was so nice and down to earth made me and my kids and husband feel so comfortable. The food was delicious, being from Texas we’ve had a hard time finding good bbq in Ohio and we finally found one. 100% will be getting all our bbq from here in the future. Mom and I visited Sandusky this week and after researching at the library we were pretty hungry. We pucked up the combo meal. It was so wonderful. The side dishes were fabulous too. The meat was so tender that we decided whenever we are here in Sandusky, this will be where we eat! Lots of food for affordable price! Thank you for a great meal!

I catered for a fraternity formal here and was skeptical at first about good BBQ in Ohio, but Derrick definitely exceeded expectations. Was great to work with and very supportive and flexible in creating the order. Easily the best BBQ in the region.
