Counter help was nice but these are the worse pork tamales ive ever had. Guess im used to my Grandma not filling tamales with garbage. The bean and the pork tamales were firm/al dente, almost dry, even after I steamed them. Not sure if it was just an off day for them because 2 other locations I’ve been to are always good. Total loss of appetite after finding either a bone or chunk of cartilage in mine. Ugh!

Probably one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. The lady at the counter was combative and antagonistic. After several minutes of trying to figure out what they needed for me to pick up the tamales we ordered and paid for she continued to antagonize me, claiming that the information was obvious and apparent online and on our receipt, which it was not.

I would have given 5 but counter help twice has been not so friendly. As far as flavor i give them a 5 star. My mom worked at a tamale shop and I can say this place is the best so far in San Antonio that I have tasted. I read all reviews and no these are not my moms or your grandmas but it’s an alternative. Of course we all want our families cooking and think we had better but don’t be harsh on the reviews unless its something worth saying. If the flavor is good but size could be better than say that don’t just give 2 stars for size. I was not so fond of the tomatillo with chicken that does need more flavor. The bean i would prefer with mozzarella cheese but still good. The Pork was excellent and finally the texture of the masa was on point and not dry at all. We all have different taste buds and so what is good to you may not be good for everyone. I just want to say thank you for the good tamales today it hit the spot.

Being a native Texan tamales were always a thing for me whenever the time called for it or whenever I had a craving and they always hit the spot for me anytime I choose to eat them.

I’ve been craving tamales and decided to try this place since it’s close to our home. They are absolutely TERRIBLE. I tried the chicken with jalapeño and the chicken was raw, and the pork tamales were so disgusting. They were wet, all of them were. Never will I ever go back to to this place, nor will I recommend it. Place doesn’t even deserve one star. I usually get tamales from a vender down at the Pearl on the weekends. I guess I will stick to those because they never disappoint.

Who doesn’t love Tamales? There’s so many combinations… Personally I don’t eat Pork, but because I grew up eating Pork… Yes they are “Delicious”… I do sacrifice 1~2 to just bring back memories! I will give HEB a Thank You for making Beef Tamales… They are better than Pork!

Ickes up 2 dozen yesterday morning, pork and jalapeño and chicken and jalapeño. Small but delicious. Didn’t mind size because less masa. My wife and I couldn’t wait till we got home, ate some in the parking lot.

I could eat their jalapeño chicken tamales every day! Ladies are super sweet when I swing in at lunch. They do run out of flavors, so call ahead to reserve some if you’re set on a particular flavor.

Dont go in during the holidays. Unless you have a preorder or speak Spanish they will ignore you. I watched it happen to a few customers until I asked her in Spanish if they were selling or had any banuelos or tamales. She said only preorder items were for sale.
