Delicious meat and BBQ, but the sides left a lot to be desired. I got the Carolina style sandwich with a side of beans and green beans. There were a few different flavors of bbq sauce, two of which I tried which were delicious (might be spicy to some people). I will say that I was rather disappointed in the sides, though. If they upgraded those to be unique vs just simple green beans, I’d give this place 5 stars.

The hot links and pulled pork looked great. But, I only ordered 2 sides for lunch. The bbq beans were served at a great temp, but too much brown sugar for my palate. If the beans had been larger, that would have helped my taster. I think many folks likely love their beans, as served. The cole slaw was pretty neutral. Good crunch of cabbage, but lacking something to make them special. Diet Pepsi had blown and only produced soda water. Diet Dr Pepper tasted fine.

Flavorful BBQ in a historical building. We thought we had tried all the local BBQ places in town but somehow we’ve missed one. I think we saved the best for last. Our family visited on a Monday at lunch. When you walk in you go straight back to the ordering counter and order your food based on the menu to the side. They have several sandwiches, 1,2, and 3 meat plates with sides and the option to buy meat by the pound. The kids meals were right around $5 and included a drink which I thought was very well priced. After ordering you seat yourself and wait for them to call your name. We ordered the pulled pork, ribs and brisket. All were extremely flavorful and well cooked. We didn’t try anything we didn’t like. We also had fun learning about the history of the building and seeing the beautiful indoor murals. We will definitely be back.

I got the $11 sandwich special (3 pig) with a side of potato salad for lunch and it was great! I came in because waited too long to have lunch and was craving meat, and was too hungry to cook at home. Portion sizes aren’t huge, but it was just the right amount to end up full with no leftovers. They have 4 kinds of iced tea to choose from. It’s a casual restaurant with counter service but one of the workers still swung by to make sure I’m happy with the food. I’ll be back!

The barbecue brisket was amazing! Very tender with a great crust. Fried okra is a super stand out. Breading reminiscent of hush puppies, with a mild sweetness and just the right hint of spice. Three varieties of coleslaw to choose from. The mac and cheese was standard. We will be back to try other meats and sides!

The food was good. It’s a casual dining, similar to many other order-at-the counter, pick-up-when-your-name-is-called places. My twisted turkey sandwich was messy and delicious! After adding some hot bbq sauce, the smoked mac & cheese was tasty. My husband said his was good (maybe a little overdone), but he wished there had been a little bit more.

The reason for 3 stars is because of my rib dinner I received. If my ribs would’ve been as hot and easy to pull of the bone as the other 3 rib meals we ordered it would’ve been 4-5 stars. But mine came out cold and it was too chewy, as if undercooked. The sides were fine. And my family’s ribs were really good. BBQ sauce is really good, food comes out fast, and the service is super friendly.

Food was below average to average, and portion sizes were small. The sauce was more memorable than the pulled pork and chopped brisket. The hours also are not accurate. They close at 8 not 10pm. Maybe I had their weaker meat options. It was disappointing overall.

I’m a big fan of good barbecue, and I was really excited to find this place after finishing up at the Makers Market ICT. We stopped in at an off time so there were very few people in the place, made for a quiet dining experience! The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. I loved the art on the walls! I had the smokey Joe, and the sauce on it was absolutely amazing! My fiance had the sandwich with all the meats, I forget the name- but everything was ready in record timing and absolutely delicious. Definitely recommending to my friends, and will be back when we are in town again!
