We really enjoyed our meal at David’s! The server was super helpful with dietary restrictions with ordering and there are so many great options on the menu. The table we were seated at was kind of squished right in the corner so it was definitely difficult to get out if needed, but not the end of the world. We tried the swordfish and mussels special and salmon. My dad also got the arugula strawberry salad and said it was one of the best salads he’s had in a long time! Everything was delicious and a great experience!

We choose David’s because of what looked like a bogus 1 star review and could not have been happier. In town on business and 3rd place we ate at this week and by far was my favorite and the other two were great also. Entire staff was awesome from hostess allowing us to move to counter so we could watch the awesome cooks prepare the fantastic food, to our server that made great suggestions. I had bruschetta starters, lobster ravioli and best crème brûlée I’ve ever had. Will definitely come back next time I am in town. This place was a pleasure.

My boyfriend and I went here on one our last nights in Portland when we were on vacation. We had called and they said they didnt have any open spots but were told to come by in case someone cancels or no shows to their reservation. We were lucky that someone had so we could get a table. It is a small place inside but it is worth it. I would have waited a while if needed.

October 1, 2022: we eat outdoors, where David’s has about half a dozen tables for safe pandemic dining. The tables are on the street right in front of the monument. It is a pleasant experience even on October 1 it was not cold.

First of all, the dining area was nice and cozy. That was the only thing that was good about the restaurant. The food oh my, it was not what I was expecting. The menu and what was brought out to me was completely different. On the menu it looked appetizing and I thought it would taste good. I ordered garlic knots and they were stale, and I didn’t even get any marinara sauce with it, I had to ask the waiter to bring it out. Atrocious. Then the Maine meal was not good at all, I wanted to try the salmon, and I hated it. It had tooo much spices on it and not enough salt, it tasted like a bunch of spices were dumped on it. Yuck. Plus the waiter tbat was serving was took way too long and didn’t really do her job as well. The only thing that was decently good was the clam chowder and the fried calamari.
