In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

They offer a great variety of spicy chicken dishes, and the sauce was just perfect. The chicken itself had good seasoning not being overly spicy. The texture of the chicken is crunchy exterior and tender, juicy meat inside. The restaurant’s decor, including the paintings, added a nice touch to the atmosphere. However, one aspect I didn’t appreciate was the slightly sticky floor, which could be improved.

Awesome experience! Never been to Dave’s and it did not disappoint. I can definitely say there chicken is probably the best I’ve had. Stopped in for lunch, service was pretty fast and order was accurate considering how much of a hurry I was in. Will definitely be back when I can have some more time to sit and enjoy!
