In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

We were a bit concerned about the “Hot” part of Dave’s Hot Chicken. The cashier told us we could or the chicken with no spice, lite mild, or mild. We tried the lite mild, and it was flavorful without stomach issues. I particularly enjoyed the chicken sandwich. We also tried the Tender Bites and Chicken Tenders. I’ve never been a big fan of crinkle-cut fries, but these were tasty. The restaurant has a drive-thru. I did not like the Togo orders come in Styrofoam.

With my first bite, I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and juicy the chicken tenders were. The size of the tenders were really big and quite filling. I was a bit disappointed with the random slices of white bread under the tenders, they were dry and stale. Fries were seasoned well. I think the best part was the dipping sauce- it added a whole different level of flavor. Overall, great place to experience deep fried chicken!

First time visitor! With the rain today, I was highly thankful they had a drive thru. Love that the employee acknowledged that I was a first time guest and went through the menu. The portions are appropriate. I ordered one mild slider and fries ($10-11). None of the combos come with a beverage. My food looked amazing! It wasn’t as hot (temperature) as i would have liked and the slider seasoning…kinda tasted like taco seasoning; but overall it’s okay. I like the bun and coleslaw touch on the slider. Despite being a new restaurant, the Dave’s sauce had a date on it of March 2022 and it’s now May. I would recommend for a quick bite during a lunch break.

We went in on a Friday for lunch, upon arrival it seemed pretty clean and empty. As this was our first time we ordered #3 which was a slider and a tender a side of fries and upgraded to the Mac and cheese. We ordered mild and medium and they weren’t much different (not spicy). Next time I’ll try the next level! Cashier was very monotone and we were definitely surprised when he swung the iPad and it had tip percentages… we tipped and moved along. While waiting for our food we sat down at a table and though it appeared clean was super sticky…went to the next…sticky. Luckily, it’s been unseasonably warm so we sat outside instead. Food was great! Stingy on the fries for sure though. I would definitely recommend trying it.

Personally we loved it. My sister got the reaper and damd that was pretty spicy, I had the xtra hot it was spicy but just perfect. The chicken tender was big and it was very very well made perfect taste I cannot explain. I had mine with cheese and it comes with a bit of fries. We also purchased the two Xtra hot tenders it came with two pcs of bread a bit of fries. That sauce they give you I forgot what it’s called but esta ricaaa.. I do recommend trying them out!

I recently had the opportunity to try out Dave’s Hot Chicken, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. I ordered from them twice, and on both occasions, I ended up feeling extremely unwell. The severe stomach aches and subsequent vomiting were so uncomfortable that I couldn’t even sleep.

Nice clean location and friendly staff. Got the tender and the slider, the taste was very good. And the portion was satisfying. The only thing I would criticize are the fries, there was way too much seasoning on it.

We last tried here a week ago, since then (even though I hate to admit) we have ordered two more times within a week. Chicken sliders are amazing as well as the fries! We order in Uber eats and it always comes hot still. Kids love the Mac n cheese as well as the tenders! My husband tried one of the shakes as well and did not disappoint! Definitely will keep coming back..
