Ok…. It’s a bit chaotic! Here’s some Intel for anyone that’s coming:

Ate here twice over vacation. The food was decent and it’s a cool spot on the island. The service was poor. Had to sift through people at the bar just to place an order, then go pick up my own food and get my own refills. Every time we asked for something, we were treated like it was an inconvenience. One guy laughed at my friend when she asked for a certain drink, and told her “no.” We are from SC, and couldn’t believe the level of service at this establishment.

Popped in for early dinner. Nice atmosphere. Busy bar area where you pick up menus and place orders. The Shrimp basket was good. Fair size shrimp not huge nice light coating. The Deviled crab was good. Had a nice kick to it. Would have liked a side of fries. They don’t come with any side. The price was as expected for seafood.

Daufuskie Crab Co. is a great place to spend and afternoon. This island vibe, live music and great bar style food along with a play set and tractor for the kids to climb on and hang out makes this a great hang out for all ages. You do have to plan your visit appropriately as this place can get VERY busy during the summer months, especially on a weekend. I recommend getting there by 10 or 11 by the latest which would allow you to order your food and drinks prior to the huge rush of people and boats that converge on this island. Docking your vessel can be a significant challenge during the crowded times as the dock space will fill up quickly and then boats end up tying up to the sides of boats that are tied to the dock. If you plan your visit appropriately this place is a great restaurant to hang out for a couple of hours. If you don’t it can become a congested nightmare with lots of people and an overwhelmed staff!

It was the only place that was open on the island to eat. It was lunch, very few people there. Ordered shrimp tacos and pork nachos. Lots of pork on the nachos and the tacos were good. The servers were available but certainly not overly friendly. Beer was $7.50 for 12oz

Food is average service is terrible. Be prepared to sit and wait. Do not come hungry. They have no help. Go to marsh side it’s much better. Fish fingers are good.

We came by boat. $10 dock fee. Docks rock a bit. Most seating is very casual & outdoors. Order food at bar, cook delivers it to table. Our Fish tacos and flounder sandwich was good. Looks like a nice hangout if you like a bar & music feel. Stage for live music. Small, colorful cabins for rent. A nice General store for conveniences. Some areas did not look the cleanest, example, Orange water refill jugs area where you get water out of, bathrooms could use freshness & care.

I love that there’s so much to do here! We sat in the swing with our puppy and watched the boats come in. Very relaxing! Try the shrimp and the Scrap Iron drink (tastes like a Long Island Iced Tea) bartender said they sell 90 gallons of it per day skip the sides. Fries were cold, potato salad tasted old, and the only other side was a bag of potato chips. Hubby liked the grouper sandwich a lot! Bartenders were friendly and attentive.

Located right near the ferry, this is the perfect place to grab a bite before/after your trip to the island. The atmosphere is super laid back and food was simply outstanding and pleasantly unexpected as they punch well above their weight. Trust me you will not be disappointed. Must visit.
