Had a lovely dinner at Dara Bistro during our stay in Freeport. The atmosphere, service, and food were all exceptional. We tried almost everything on the menu and cleaned every plate. Great options for the two vegetarians in our group and amazing dessert. Nice wine, beer, and cocktail options as well.

We have been coming for the weekday breakfast and always thought the food, the staff and the music were terrific. Today we tried the Sunday brunch. What an excellent experience. Great food served well by a friendly staff and live music. A perfect Sunday. Also a shout out to the kitchen. Great food prepared well consistently. We’ll be back.

What a gem in Cumberland! Dara Bistro is open for casual breakfast 7-11 am during the week and fancy dinners later in the day. You can get bagels with cream cheese, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, or scones and muffins. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheddar, and bacon on a biscuit and it was excellent! The biscuit was light and fluffy and the sandwich was super tasty. They also offer hot and cold coffees (Coffee By Design coffee) and teas with non-dairy milk as an option. I will definitely return soon!

We frequent Dara when we visit Maine for breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee. The food is fabulous, the service is amazing. When they are packed, service can be a tad slow BUT they always communicate this well! (Example: the quiche will be about a 15 minute wait, does that work for you?)

What a gem this place is! Only been for dinner, but just spectacular. Cozy, a wonderful staff and food & wine to die for. A little worried about posting this review because I don’t want it to become so popular that we can’t get in!

We can’t recommended this place enough. High end food and service with wide open parking and not even 10 miles from Portland. Smooth atmosphere, ambiance, from the appetizers to the dessert an on point curated selection of food and libations without being pretentious. We had the pot pie interpretation and the prickly things app was SO GOOD plus the tomato chutney was something I never had but now need a jar. I wanted to try everyone!

Oh boy where to start ? This has to be the most frustrating and confusing experience of my life . We walked in / through a crowd seated outside . Door opened onto people in line. Ok . Make our way back and try to read the blackboard. Limited menu and coffee stuff . It was 11:15 am . Make note of that .

Can’t say enough good things about Dara! They use a lot of local ingredients and make everything from scratch (including the ketchup which is just on the breakfast potatoes). We attended a four course wine dinner there a few years ago and I still think about the Indian pudding with foie gras dessert they served.

Fantastic scratch made breakfast and pastries. They cook with love over there and it shows! Perfectly seasoned, nice portions and very reasonably priced. Space is clean, lovely and inviting. Service was prompt, pleasant and good for a chat. Can’t wait to try dinner–great job guys!
