Pizza was fair to middling, the decor is right on, but when I leave my sunglasses and phone at the bar, it’s a pretty good indicator I’m coming back. Having told a staff member I was stepping out for a minute is another great indicator of my intent. When I come back and my fresh beer is gone and I’m rang up for a another is just bad business. The brunette bartender was great, the blonde however should be allowed to wait for a bus, much less a patron.

I’ve been living in Chicago for over 10 years. I’ve had quite a lot of pizza in that time. Dante’s has some of the best of the best thin crust pizza you will find in this great city. Do yourself a favor and just order a full pie. And then figure out how to save any leftovers in your fridge. If there are any, because I ate half a 20” pie by myself. It was glorious.

Unfortunately I did not have a good first time take-out experience from Dante’s Tavern. I placed a takeout order (pizza, wings, and fries) on a Friday at 6PM online, and was given a pickup time of 7:01 PM from the webpage. I arrived to the tavern at 7PM and asked for my order, and was told that it would be about “ten more minutes”. No problem. There however isn’t a great place to wait here as there is limited space, and I don’t drink, so I didn’t want to take up a spot at the bar as it was pretty full.

Went in w some buddies to get some slices. After waiting a couple minutes bc the bar tender was busy chatting w her friends. I had a googley eye on my forehead, the bartender scratched my head and flicked it off. I don’t know her name but it was a Wednesday nt around 8 pm. By far the rudest interaction I’ve ever had by a bar tender.

Rock/metal tavern with more than just pizza. Daily slice specials with an impressive draft beer lineup. Cheap beer is also available for hipster folk. Darker setting and great music. Friendly barstaff and excellent service. We love you dark continent….goodnight.
