Not quite a 5 ⭐ place but a solid 4.5 stars. It definitely has the vibe and customers to justify it’s popularity. The flavor of the food is there but I wish they made some of the items less salty. I get that Salt Potatoes (it’s in the name) and the Bird (seasoning) have to be that way and they are tasty, but there’s no reason for a 10oz of giblet stew to have twice your daily salt intake. Very good place overall.

We live an hour and a half away from Dan’s Chicken Shack and make an annual trip each summer. This is the best chicken ever! The staff is friendly. We love Dan’s Chicken Shack.

We will never know how good the chicken is. Went on a Sunday @ 530 pm, sold out. Np – went back Tuesday, not open. Went back Friday – it was open, which was nice, but we were told chicken is only sold on Saturdays and Sundays, which was hard to take because there were like 100 chickens being prepared on a table right in front of the premises. The bar was open, but it was only 1130 am so we had to move on.

Ive been here a few times. The chicken is usually much better seasoned. This time the potatoes were still very hard and 2 out of 3 of our chickens were over done and tasted burnt throughout the meat.

The chicken here is absolutely amazing. The seasoning is very tasty and everytime I’ve come the chicken has been juicy and tender all the way through. Its more of a literal shack where they make the food and then there is picnic tables spread out for customer use, it’s the best way to eat on nice days. My family makes excuses at least a couple times a year to come and eat here even though its over an hour away.
