We went here on Valentine’s Day for dinner. You can judge how good a restaurant is when it should be performing at full capacity. We had a dinner reservation for 6:30pm but were not seated until 7:15. Meanwhile there were 14 people huddled by the door also waiting in this small restaurant when we finally sat down. This restaurant needs to work the timings out so it doesn’t get congested.

Food was amazing. I had lamb dish – mildly flavored, perfectly cooked, paired with great polenta and flavorful veggies. Two others had fish dishes which I sampled / black cod was melt in the mouth and the salmon wonderfully flavored and perfectly cooked. Will be back! (Staff a little quirky but maybe that’s part of the charm?)

My wife and I have been visiting Palm Desert for several years and this was hands-down one of the BEST restaurants we have been to. Not only was the food amazingly good (and made with fresh, quality ingredients), but the experience provided by the staff made the evening a delight! From the ambience, to the traveling menu, to the warmth of the staff, to the incredible talents of Chef Daniel (and special touches by Sous-chef Ricky), we loved everything about our evening spent at Daniel’s Table and look forward to returning the next time we’re in town. And a special shout-out to Julie and Scott for making us feel so welcome!

Was the perfect spot to celebrate a birthday and enjoy incredible food. We ate multiple courses and the Chef was wonderfully friendly and spoke with us and the rest of the guests. Truly a memorable treat. All the food was perfectly prepared and the ingrediants were all super fresh.

I couldn’t have been more disappointed. I was so excited to go to this restaurant, and every part of it fell short. They presented us with a blackboard that had all the dishes on it without any prices, we had no idea how astronomical the bill would be. We were with another couple and the first thing we ordered was asparagus soup. It has so much pepper in it. It was inedible. And to top it off, the people we were with got sick on the soup because of the pepper and had to leave mid meal. I also ordered a fish dish and was presented with almost 2 inch long bones inside the fish. This fish ended up costing over $50. I was mortified! I overheard the chef saying that he put white pepper in the soup to another customer who was complaining and that he didn’t taste it first. Never heard of such a thing, so disappointing and so expensive! Not worth returning to. However, the server was fabulous.

The bison short rib was tender and very tasty. The crab cakes tasted like I was back in Baltimore. There was also a lot of delicious wine that was suggested by the server.

Had high expectations to finally try this restaurant. When you’re expected to pay$50 for an entree you want it to be cooked to perfection. My duck was overcooked and tough. When you ask for a wine list, and you’re told they’re is one you hope you’re server will be able to inform you about the wine list. The server has no knowledge of the wines, nor the prices. They had to ask someone else every time we had a question about the wine. The lowest price glass of wine was $19 a glass and yet the wine was insipid and tasteless. When you’re expected to pay 15 to $20 for a dessert and you’re told you’re getting a lemon cake with lemon curd and the cake comes out hard and dry it’s a great disappointment. When your bill is over $500 for 4 people including tip you expect to walk out with a very memorable feeling. Instead my recent experience left me apologizing to my friends for even recommending this restaurant. If this used to be a fine dining establishment it has lost every bit of sheen it once had. My biggest restaurant disappointment experience ever.
