The staff are excellent, friendly, and attentive; we also saw the owner wandering the dining rooms. The interior is lovely and interesting. The food is rather good, though the portions are somewhat small, at least in terms of pasta / vegetables. Appetizers were excellent, and the house bread was good. I enjoyed the experience, but I prefer several other Italian restaurants in the city.

Very nice Italian restaurant in an urban setting. I went there to attend a family reunion dinner. We had a reservation for 38 people. We were seated promptly, and enough servers were assigned to our party. Our service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The servers were attentive enough so that we never felt neglected, but they were not overly obtrusive.

Not bad, but not amazing. It is incredibly popular and incredibly busy. The spaghetti and meatballs, which won a best of Philly award, was good, but again not as good as the award might suggest. Because the restaurant was so busy, the service was okay. I think that there are a lot of people who love this place because it was packed. Maybe a case of different strokes for different folks.

Good Italian cooking. Menu offers a decent selection of pastas. We started with the bean soup which was thick and well seasoned. The bruschetta had 5 slices with melted mozzarella cheese and tomatoes. Good for sharing. The Caesar salad was good but a little too creamy. For the entrees, the fusilli Puttanesca had chunks of tomatoes and was not spicy. The spaghetti and meatballs was a hit. The meatballs were soft and tasty. The ziti with asparagus was Al dente with a blush sauce. For dessert, the ricotta cheesecake had a subtle lemon taste with zest of lemon. The meal was exactly what we wanted and it was reasonably priced by city standards. Service was attentive. We were able to have a conversation at the table. As the evening progressed the noise level increased. The owner visited each table and serenaded everyone with his singing and guitar playing. A pleasant evening in Philly.
