This Dame’s is nothing like the one in Greensboro, but not even close.

This location was not what we were expecting from Dames. The quality is much lower than the location in Durham. They served us in take out containers with take out utensils which made it hard to eat and enjoy our food. We waited 40min for our 2 waffles and people got their food before us. The staff was not polite. You have to tip first before being served and they don’t let you see your itemized receipt.

I sympathize with the few staff who worked hard on Sunday brunch hour when I visited. The same guy was busing, taking dine-in orders, and sorting to-go’s all by himself. Our orders took an hour to get to the table and the food was subpar: waffles were a bit soggy before adding syrup and smear, the chicken’s only seasoned in the skin but the meat was quite flavourless.

Bad food experience. Visited Dame’s with family. Waffles were slightly warm, wilted and mushy. Skin on the chicken wings was not rendered and therefore rubbery and fatty. The cutlets were uneven: one OK and the other overcooked, dry and tough. Was really looking forward to the meal. Dissappointed. We will not return.

Fresh fried chicken, a bit too salty for me (but I think it’s suitable for most ppl) , don’t like the waffle cuz it’s not crispy.

The food is decent just not what you would expect from Dames. The sheer amount of parsley in the chicken and the macaroni could replenish the parsley supply of America. Like at least call it Parsley Mac & Cheese. And the calypso sauce is giving store bought barbecue sauce with shone crushed pepper flakes. How are you stingy with hot sauce at a chicken spot? Seasoning is not giving for the southern folk. Waffle hitting though.

It’s awesome to have a Dame’s on Franklin, here! I know Dame’s from Greensboro, and this new location (which is currently in its soft opening) is just as delicious! Excellent service, speedy preparation, and attention to detail!

My family and I walked in and white people was staring at us and made us so uncomfortable we left. I felt like I was in 1923. The cashier was white and she didn’t serve us. This was 7/28/2023 @11am. End racism in America.

Waffles and Chicken perfectly cooked, sides are all really good especially the Mac (full size Penne & cheese). Staff is really friendly. Chicken has nice crisp batter while waffle is soft.
