Thank you muchly to friendly folks at the Dalton Restaurant for breakfast this morning. I ordered the everything omelet with a side of bacon home fries and white toast. It was delicious and will give me start to an upcoming trip to Springfield. The service was outstanding. Once again thank you so much and have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

Had chopped sirloin with gravy , Fries and coleslaw. The fries were as limp as overcooked spaghetti, amazed they were sent out. The chopped sirloin extremely tasteless, chewy and tough amazing for ground beef let alone sirloin. No remorse from staff.

Five stars for the food quality. Old fashioned shotgun style diner. (long and narrow) has a counter and a row with booths and tables. Old fashioned small town charm. Breakfast lunch and dinner. Entrees range from sandwiches to prime rib and quite a few Italian offerings. Best burger I’ve had in quite some time. Not a pre-formed frozen patty actually real ground meat and fresh vegetables. I can imagine someone’s grandmother in the back putting home made love into each dish. Almost like they go to the grocery store daily and cook everything fresh. Even the fries seemed to be fresh cut potatoes. Definitely not like a Chain restaurant or fast food and a welcome break. Fresh tasty homemade goodness is what is in store here.

My wife and I have eaten here several times, and have always had great service from the staff, a clean table, and a lively atmosphere with so many locals packing the booths and counter. Dalton Restaurant is sort of a fixture of Dalton and has been family run…well, forever. And I suspect that longstanding patronage and vaunted local status has contributed to the reason we’ve given this restaurant only two stars: they just aren’t trying very hard to please customers anymore.

If I could give them zero stars I would. Went for dinner, ordered the special waited almost an hour as we watched others come in after us eat have dessert and leave. The waitress said she was going to check on our meal and never came back. It wasn’t until we got up and said we were leaving and wanted to pay for the drinks another waitress stated they were making it and asked if we wanted to take it to go. It was blatantly obvious that if you’re not a regular you won’t get service. Will never return.
