Grabbed lunch at Dain’s Place and I was instantly impressed. The atmosphere was great with solid music playing. The bartender got to me quickly and my beer was ice cold. I got dog loaded with mustard, slaw, red onions and their homemade sweet meat chili. The chili had great flavor and was nice and hot. The fries were very good as well.

The food was great. They were busy, preparing, unpacking boxes and like so many places it seems they were a little short of help,!! but everyone was very nice, gave us a free Beer and again the food was excellent.we will be back

Dain’s is my go-to spot for a night out or some burgers. Hands down the best burger in Durham and top 3 of burgers in my life. The staff and the energy is also just perfect – so inviting, so friendly. If you’ve ever seen How I Met Your Mother, this is literally our McLaren’s pub for my friends and I; there’s always an open table and whether it’s drinks or food the quality is always great. If you’re a regular you start to notice that a group of patrons on any given night is actually off-shift staff members. That they want to spend their days off there with friends pretty much tells you everything you need to know. Best hidden gem in Durham.

My brother and I found this spot going to our first Duke game to watch coach K final season. I’m sitting in my house a year later wanting to fly back to Diane’s place for their Philly Cheesesteak! It’s legit!!!! The staff was amazing and drink selection far above what this place looks like from the outside. It’s a MUST visit if you’re ever within 100 miles!

I’ve always been a big fan of Dain’s and especially now that they have a vegan option to sub in for the burger. The tots basket is basically the best deal ever. It’s a couple of bucks for a huge basket!

This place is DISGUSTINGLY GREAT! Food was AMAZING for “bar food”. The Ruben was tender, stuffed, on crisp marble rye! Loaded tots were like 1lb+ and the beer was cold!
