Wonderful restaurant. I visited with my family and friends this noon and everything from food to hospitality was top notch. We ordered a variety of vegetarian dishes. Each and every dish was very tasty. The rates were reasonable too. A big shoutout to the waitress who ensured that we were comfortable with our orders. This is the best Indian restaurant I have visited in US. I’ll make a point to visit this small restaurant every time I visit Rhode Island.

Sooo good! It was my son’s birthday today, and he decided that he wanted to try an Indian restaurant he had never been to before. Yelp supplied Dabbawala Lunch Box on Smith Street in North Prov. It’s a tiny place – about 5 tables of 4 seatings each – but the colors of the walls, the leaf designs on the tables, and the scrolled high-back chairs is a nod to a more opulent ambience, and it’s comfortable. Our waitress was friendly and an excellent server – wish I had gotten her name – and knew the ingredients as well as how the dishes were cooked. Everything we ordered was delicious with a wonderful mélange of spices and herbs. We guessed that the chef was cooking southern India style, and we were right. It seemed to us that their focus is on takeout, but I think this is a little jewel of a restaurant and won’t be surprised if we eventually have to stand in line to get one of those seats.

The worse Indian food I have ever had. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Vindaloo and naan for take-out. We got home expecting wonderfully aromatic food and ended up with chunks of dried chicken sitting in soupy sauces that looked and tasted like they were from a can. There were no aromatic spices, nothing fresh, let alone authentic. Honestly, if they had canned Indian sauces, this would be it. As for the naan, oh please. It was a cold, dry and brittle. And the final slap in the face, the rice was your standard minute rice variety (NOT basmati).

Outstanding food, excellent service, attractive restaurant and clean and comfortable. It’s brand new and they will have a liquor license very soon. I can’t wait to go again soon!

The food was good. Mild was still a bit hot. Small place that seems to mostly do delivery, but it’s comfortable. Great naan. Will make you a masala chai if asked.

I can’t eat a lot of things, and when I went in I wasn’t expecting as much of an amazing experience as I had. The staff was super nice, and they made me the best food I’ve had in years!

Unfortunately our tikka masala was raw(under cooked) and the staff was rude.
