Just grabbed some on the way home driving my friend back from Bradley International Airport and I am FLOORED by how good this is. One AWESOME welcome home meal for my best pal. The chicken is amazing, the fish is amazing, they even have fried okra, and it was all prepared FRESH for us, even though it was close to closing for them (was after 1 am). This place is *made of* that elusive “local authenticity” that can’t be faked. They’re a fixture in the community and it shows in the quality and variety of their food. This is where the REAL people eat, the people who live here, ending a long late shift *working* at the flashy glitzy MGM casino next door rather than the posh socialites who are only visiting. they definitely could use a deep clean and invest in either new booths or patch the ones they have. It makes you kinda NOT want to hear here when the floors and seating is old and dirty. but the food is always good. But, def for the location they need to step it up

Cash Only! They’ve got an ATM, but there’s a fee. Food is good for the price. You get a full meal out of the deal and the fries are nice and crispy. If you’re walking by, pop in and order some comfort food.

I ate here for the first time in the 6 months I have been traveling to Springfield, and the gyro was one of the best I have had, even with the unusual and tasty dill-infused sauce. The star was the fries – old school skinny stick fries that seem to have been double-fried (not sure) and these were very crisp outside and soft inside – perfect. I also noted the steady stream of customers coming in for the fried chicken, so I am guessing it must be pretty good. CASH ONLY – they have an ATM in the corner if you arrive unprepared.

I’m a big fan of CFC joints in Worcester, so I thought this would be the same, but was unpleasantly surprised. The fried chicken was fine, if that’s what you’re going for, but they were out of nearly everything else I asked for (at 11:30 am on a weekday, opening time), no rice, no beef, no desserts, I ended up settling for the chicken gyro and while it was a good portion it had absolutely zero flavor, there were no visible spices on the chicken unlike the chicken in Worcester that is completely coated in colorful spices, couldn’t even taste any salt, there was a smattering of white sauce that was also flavorless, and some iceberg lettuce, a couple slices of under-ripe tomato, and plenty of slices of EXTREMELY pungent red onion, had to take them out they were so strong. The fries were generous but had a very odd flavor to them. But the most frustrating thing was they only take cash, which I had none on me, and ended up paying $19 ($17 plus $2 for the ATM inside) for a chicken gyro and a couple chicken pieces (asked for thighs, got 1 thigh 1 breast), same order costs $12 in Worcester. Also the location is terrible for finding parking, ended up wandering around the area for 10 min just to find parking. Won’t be returning.
