Our grandfather Harry Karandzieff came to St. Louis from Greece and opened Crown Candy Kitchen in 1913, His son George took over in the 50’s and added malted milk shakes and deluxe sundaes to the menu.
Now we are proud to carry on the tradition of one of St. Louis’ oldest and most popular attractions with our families. In addition to a hearty lunch fare and ice cream, we hand dip and box chocolates year round and mold solid figurines for all holidays.

Such an amazing place. Historic old building. Super nice and friendly staff. Incredible food. The sandwiches are all so good. Grilled cheese, tuna melt and of course, the Heart-stopping BLT. Simply delicious. Get here early or prepare to wait. If you do have to wait, it’s totally worth it.

The neighborhood almost made me turn around and drive away. But the restaurant was fine and there seemed to be nothing bad. My family and I went in to eat. It’s a cool piece of history with great food. Save room for candy and/or ice cream. Both are made there. I couldn’t believe how much bacon was on the BLT! I love me some bacon. The BLT was true to its core and very good. Not overly embellished. The business has been there since 1913 and it is not in the hands of the 4th generation of the family!

The only complaint I have is that the bacon could be just a smidgen more crispy. I’m sure making all of that bacon isn’t easy. It’s still delicious. I also had a malt. If you only ever get a shake. Try a malt. The candy selection is pretty good as well. Even after waiting in the sun for 30 minutes, it was a delight, and I would do it again.

Wow!! What an AMAZING place! Delicious food, friendly service and reasonable prices. Definitely exciting to slip back in the past in the 110 year old business that cherishes their heritage. If you haven’t been yet, you need to go. We will surely return so I can get a BLT!

We really enjoyed visiting this St. Louis institution. Service was excellent. I was given a great recommendation by my server for a coffee flavored ice cream sundae. My kids loved their shakes and my husband only regretted his BLT because he spent the 30 minute drive home in a bacon coma.

Great good, very small inside so you will probably have to wait outside for a table. The service was just ok, nothing amazing but the food was excellent and had pretty big portions. The milkshake was enough for both of us to have 1-1/2 tall glasses.

This is an absolute must visit. We had lunch there. I have never experienced a BLT sandwich like this! That and a root beer floats will more than satisfy your hunger. I highly recommend it.

No long wait time, great customer service and friendly staff. My family and I had a good time for our first dine-in here. My son liked everything he ate as for my daughters the oldest liked the ice cream and grilled cheese and my youngest liked the chips and milkshake. Tasty food! – enjoyed every bite!

First and foremost I love small mom and pop shops and why haven’t I seen this place on Diners Drive ins and Dive! I swear there was a pound of bacon on my BLT and it took me to flavortown! I plan on visiting this place again! Local or tourist this is a must stop! Great small place has that mid 90’s feel! The malts and candy speak for themselves
