This place was like a step back in time and very nostalgic. Loved that the interior has kept the original decor. It was very clean and well kept. We had the crab cocktail, fried crab cakes and seafood bisque. They all tasted good. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

10 stars. It’s been 20 years since I last visited, I no longer live in the area.

Crisfield restaurant is not the same. Its prices have gone up but the food is not as good. It was my favorite place to go. I always get the same meal, crabmeat Norfolk. Nothing special, but it now costs $50. Everything comes in separate dishes. Not like it used to be. I will not be going back.

First time at this restaurant. The food was cooked well, but I ordered light fare (living on student budget), and was charged for the dinner portion. The manager refused to refund the difference even though the mistake was on behalf of the restaurant and not the customer. This place also mandatorily charges 20% gratuity, and won’t refund any portion of that even if you are dissatisfied with the service. Hope this review may help anyone living on a budget.

This is a diamond in the rough. This Silver Spring, MD, landmark has stood the test of time. Don’t be fooled by its rough exterior, these frozen in time walls are keeping in all the flavor and goodness of traditional American coastal cuisine. Easily the best meal I had on the D.C. area, Crisfield stole my heart with their healthy servings and friendly service.

We arrived just before noon. The Crab fingers tasted old)/refrigerated. The stuffed shrimp was lightly seasoned, but dry and hard. The place smelled old and musty. I may try it again later in the evening next time. This place used to be the best.

Seafood is still great and been around since 1945. I have been frequenting this place for over 30 years. I was disappointed when more than 2 years into COVID-19 pandemic that they still weren’t open for dine-in service. Glad they are fully operational now. FYI to faithful customers, now a 20% gratuity is automatically added to your check, even for seating at oyster bar. Not withstanding still great broiled crab cake, lobster bisque soup and good service with some new faces.

OMG. I have been coming to Crisfield’s for 35 years. This is the first visit since COVID. What a total disappointment. The fresh oysters were questionable; they didn’t seem cold, and the server said he didn’t eat them and could not vouch for them. The lobster and crab Norfolk I used to enjoy immensely was tasteless, and the “butter” it was cooked in was icky oil. Instead of claw meat like brfore, the lobster meat was curled up like shrimp. The servers were more interested in preparing carryout orders than dealing with live customers in front of them. Worst of all, the place was not air conditioned on a 100+ degree day. Only one beer selection on tap. Thoroughly substandard meal and heartbreakingly awful compared to Crisfield’s past excellence. Sadly, will never return to what used to be a neighborhood icon.
