Big Boy Dining Out
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, 1175 Palm Bay Rd, Melbourne, FL 32905

At approximately 11:00am on August 26th we visited the Cracker Barrel located on 1175 Palm Bay Road NE Melbourne Florida, our Waitress (Brenda) informed us that the kitchen was running behind which was acceptable to us because it’s not our first time visiting a Cracker Barrel during lunch. As we waited for our meal our waitress informed us that our meal will be out shortly. At the thirty minute mark she returned very apologetic and informed us that the cook stated the pork chops were still frozen. I was surprised that this was the case especially when this was the Saturday’s Daily special per the menu. We informed her that it was not her fault and that the blame fell solely on the cook and provided her our second option. She returned to tell us that the manager would be visiting our table. The manager on duty, Kasey, stated that the night manager did not pull the pork chops out the night prior. I was surprised that she blamed a peer of hers (manager) on the mishap and that this sorely fell on the cook. She again stated that it wasn’t the cooks fault but the manager as she was walking away from our table. At that time we decided to leave, not have a meal at this establishment and informed Brenda that we were leaving along with giving her a tip. My wife informed her why we were leaving which she was so appalled and almost in tears.

I met my son and grandkids their for breakfast. The wide selection made it easy for all of us to find something to eat. Pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, hash brown casserole, and biscuits with gravy. We were running out of room on our table to put everything. The kids were happy, and my son and I were both happy the food was good and its a place where you couldn’t walk in and not buy something from their store, which has old fashioned candy, clothes, decorations, toys, games, etc. You can get lost in there for a while.

Went for chicken fried steak breakfast and fried apples. So good! The staff was very good. Our waitress was busy with another table when we got to the table, and she asked a coworker to get us started on drinks. Loved that. Went to the shop afterward and staff there was very helpful and friendly.

Have been here many times for breakfast (5 stars for those – coffee is great, food is down-home-cooked perfectly) but tonight we went for dinner. We ordered the chicken/beef tips sample. Aside from the supposedly 3 chicken tenders (which were in reality 1 1/2 tenders sliced the long way, scrawny, shriveled pieces), the shrimp and chicken were way overly-salty. Disappointed in that because the breakfast food has been quite good in the past. Service was good. Atmosphere as always, great. We’ll be back, but not for dinner.

The server would disappear for long stretches of time. We had to wait extremely long for drink refills and the check. My daughter fell asleep and did not touch her food. The server never got a to-go box and we had to leave food at restaurant. When we check out, I asked for the kids meal to be taken off because she wasn’t able to take it home. A lady next to the lady checking me out spoke up and said, I’m always having to take things off for you. She continued to tell me and everyone around that she had to take off something for me last week. I explained to her I hadn’t been in the store for about a month and I used the QR scan so I don’t have to wait in line. She looked at me and said well then you must have a twin who came with your kids. Up until this point, all I wanted to say and do was have the six-dollar meal off the ticket. At this point I asked to speak with the manager and a young bald man came out. I explained the situation and the rude woman continued to justify and excuse me of having a twin. It was obvious to me that she would accuse me of a scam. The manager started with a corporate spill and I just told him to ring my ticket and let me go. I asked for the manager’s name and didn’t get it or I might not have heard it. I don’t even know where to start with how unbelievable this situation has occurred. I will NEVER SET FOOT IN ANOTHER CRACKER BARREL. I will make it my mission to tell at least 75 people this story. I have never written anything bad on somebody or something like this situation. All in all, I can understand that the server was having a bad day. I probably would have not even argued over the six dollars. However, that black lady with very short hair and glasses working at CB 0519 has to be one of the rudest people I have ever encountered.

Gross gross gross gross! The saltiest ickiest meal! We love our Cracker Barrel location near our home so we figured we would eat at this one since it was on our road trip! Absolutely not equal to the one we are used to! The server was very nice but unfortunately new so she didn’t seem to know much about anything. The fried chicken which I was told only came with a mix of white and dark- came out with 2 breasts and I hate breast meat lol. Just my luck! My husband left the bacon on his plate based on how undercooked it was. The biscuits were salty, the gravy was gluey and YUCK! The corn muffins were rocks! We spent $35 to be sick essentially.

We had another excellent lunch at Cracker Barrel today and our server Felicia was fantastic! I’m not normally a big fan of the giant chains but this particular Cracker Barrel hit all the marks! Friendly greeting when we walked in, immediate seating and quick friendly service. The fish fry is crazy good! Four stars cuz of the luke warm fries and not so good coffee!

Sarah was our server just 20 min to close. Always with a smile and was honest on her suggestions. This made the night for us.
