Cracker Barrel is one of our favorite places for breakfast. I just wish when it came to lunch/ dinner that they would increase their portions. Its hard to wrap your mind around paying $12 plus for food only to get portions so small my toddler could it it by herself. Tried The new chicken and cheese fried chicken with ranch..it was okay just super small portions. The chicken could have been a bit more moist..seemed like it had been fried a bit too much with lots of batter.

My wife and I had a craving for Cracker Barrel’s chicken pot pie and decided to call on the way home and pick up an order to go. Went to the website and called the phone number listed, punched button 1 to place our order and then listened to the phone ring for 30 times before I gave up. I just ate at a Cracker Barrel in Hickory, NC and the food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Apparently the Cracker Barrel on Tunnel Road has a poor franchise owner or a poor manager or both. Based on my experience and other recent reviews, I’ll be going to the Moose Cafe for good country style food in the future.

Worst experience I’ve had at Cracker Barrel. Ordered takeout at 6:23pm. Email said it would be ready at 7pm. Took my time cause I thought it might be busy and didn’t want to rush them. Got there around 7:10 and my order wasn’t ready yet. There wasn’t a lot of cars in the parking lot but I figured they were short handed so I waited patiently. Finally around 7:25 they brought out my order. I went to leave and for some reason thought I would check it. I noticed they left out the biscuits, so I went back to the counter. At this point I removed one of my orders from the bag and the picture is what I got for the roast beef meal. I showed the cashier and she told me she wasn’t even sure what it was. She went back to get me the biscuits and a new order of roast beef. Finally around 7:50, I got the biscuits and new roast beef. It was a little better then the first one. At this time I’ve been waiting over 30 minutes in the restaurant alone, and at no time did I see a manager to help the cashier or apologize. This place needs new management to say the least. I use to love to go here, but it has gone a long way down. Go somewhere else.

Everything was cold. Don’t know if this is wait staff or kitchen neglect. Server was accommodating and took my chicken and dumplings back to kitchen and returned with piping hot dish. But everything was lukewarm. We love Cracker Barrel and eat there pretty often and this won’t keep us from returning. Hopefully was a one-time thing.
