excited to see loaded HBR as an appetizer option, it was TASTY (5/5)! Fried pickles were good, had a little kick to them (4/5). Roast Beef (chicken pot pie was going to take upwards of 20+ minutes to cook) 4/5. veggie platter: dumplings (2/5) watery, green beans (1/5) they were not edible, fried okra (1/5) soggy and cold, greens (2/5) asked for hotsauce, someone took the restrictor off and I poured a 1/2 a bottle of tabasco on my greens, ate them anyhow.

We were on our way home from Florida and stopped for the night in Rocky Mount. We had a wonderful dinner! The food and service was great! We had salads, dumplings, chicken and lots of amazing sides! We’ve never been disappointed by a Cracker Barrel, wherever we end up stopping at one!

We’re always looking forward to Cracker Barrel, but this trip was….meh. The waitress looked nervous the entire time, and very unsure of the menu. Not a complaint, just a comment. We weren’t given silverware, and then when she gave us plastic, she said she didn’t want us to wait, that there was no silverware. The restaurant wasn’t that full, so we were surprised. No silverware? My husband wanted to wait until he could get an actual knife, because he would be cutting into a chicken fried steak (which plastic is not necessarily suited for). The waitress also brought the check as soon as the food was out, and told us to have a nice day that we can pay up front. We never saw her again. Never got refills on our drinks. I got a salad, and I’m used to cracker barrel cutting up the chicken into strips and the egg…both were left whole. Maybe that’s a new policy? As I said, nothing terrible, but nothing to rave about either.

The service was good. It takes them forever it seems to seat you. However, my server was very nice but the food is horrible. It has no taste. The steak taste like it has been boiled and it was still bloody . The broccoli was scortched, the apples were not fried they came out of can and cinnamon and sugar were placed on them in a microwave, carrots were steamed no seasoning.

The staff was excellent, from the ladies in the store to the wait staff. Our food was hot and promptly served, and our coffee cups were kept filled and hot. The food looked better than the ads…when does that happen?

We went around 6 O’clock expecting it to be busy as every other Cracker Barrel is. It wasn’t. We ordered and half of the stuff we wanted they claimed to be out of. What food we did get was horrible and not worth the money. Extra small portions , overcooked food and the waitress wasn’t very attentive at all. Constantly had to wait for the smallest of things like Ketchup , refills , biscuits , etc. For a restaurant that wasn’t packed at all , service was 100% horrible. I love Cracker Barrel but I will not be coming back to this location ever again and I recommend you all do the same.

Where do I begin! We ordered our food, waited over 30 mins just to get cold food and to be told that our grandmother’s meal, they didn’t have it to make. They tell us this after she has waited all that time! The server says she can’t do anything about any of this inconvenience. I had to request to speak to a manager that took a little off our ticket but not nearly enough for the experience we had. I have always loved Cracker Barrel but this one, we will Never come back!!

Although our waiter was very sweet, the preparation of food was very slow. At 9 pm on a Friday night, they weren’t crowded but it still took a little over 30 minutes for our food to be served. And it wasn’t served piping hot, so that was an oddity. But the employees we encountered (hostess, waiter, cashier) were all very welcoming and sweet.

Food was ok, warm not hot when served. Taste was ok, Cracker Barrel used to be a great place to eat, now its just a sit down semi-fast food place. Server was nice and attentive. There was a sewer smell in the air like a dry floor drain or a plumbing issue.
