Bacon, sausage, egg omelet, hash brown, cheese… inside a buttered and toasted white bun — is the Animal sandwich. Sort of tastes sweet but you get all the breakfast sandwich needs met in one place. Other than breakfast sandwiches, there are bowls with avocado and other fancy choices. And one of the bowls offered is Seoul Mate which makes me think the owner is, or has, a Korean mom. The place has picnic tables outside with umbrellas making it quite pleasant to sit outside. The tots are a thing. But I preferred the animal.

I’m pretty sure I had the food truck first, but this restaurant has a very creative breakfast menu and I’m a fan. There are so many options and customization for sandwiches. There are also a lot of great versions of the hash browns as well. The staff is great too. Very patient with me when I was trying to get a sandwich without cheese .

Came here with high expectations — but the food ended up being just ok. The interior of the place is very whimsical and the staff is great. They’re also very efficient as the place was super packed on a Saturday morning.

The service was good and the breakfast sandwiches were massive and LOOKED delicious, but overall were a bit bland. The bread was too dry, and the sausage was somewhat tasteless. If it were not for the sauce on the sandwich it would taste like a whole lot of nothing. It was a ton of food. Ate one sandwich at 9:30AM and didn’t have another bite until 4PM.

Don’t walk. Run here. This place was awesome. If you go to zoo stop in here. The Inigo Montoya was such a good sandwich. The buns are good the sauce is good. The restaurant has a cool look. Sadly they were out of a lot of tot flavors. Had cool retro looking Gatorade can. Also had the southern one which was also good. Kinda wanted a smaller slice of green tomato. But it still tasted great. One of best egg sandwiches I have had since moving to the area. Definitely recommend before going to the zoo. 3rd time and this place still the best breakfast sandwich I have had in DC. I have tried the animal (Great), Hamilton Porter (Really Good), Paulie Cicero (Good), Southern Charm (Good), Inigo Montoya, (Really Good). Also I prefer the tots loaded with stuff. But everyone else just loves the tots in general.

Stopped in prior to our zoo visit and left with very full bellies! The kids sandwiches are humongous, so next time we’ll probably have our kids split an order instead of getting their own. The bowls were delicious and filling. Adding this place to our list of go-tos in DC
